I've just been keeping really busy - having fun. Don't want to spend my time inside on the computer.
One day there was a beach party day, with games all day, many I couldn't play, e.g. volleyball, but did for a number of others, followed by a beach cookout and entertainment.
Next day, the Kennedy Space Centre, and Ponce Inlet, with a lighthouse and dolphins.
Then, a 5 hour casino dinner cruise.
Today, a chocolate factory tour, with lots of free samples. Then the beach and ocean.
Tomorrow, I'm going deep sea fishing. Can't wait. I love fishing.

I've done it once before, it's shear exhilaration when you hook something.
I went shark fishing once too, and had a fantastic time. It was so much more thrilling. I'll do that again the next time I come down.

Happy Friday, everyone!
Apparently the opening ceremonies won't be as grand as others have been, but I still look forward to them!
Hope you all have a wonderful day!

I wonder if @Lynn49 has ever seen or experienced anything like this during her officiating days?

NO!!!! I hate, hate, hate it when kids are allowed to run free-range during a wedding ceremony or cry, or talk loud or anything else that would divert attention from the ceremony!!!! I've been known to pause during a ceremony to give a parent time to REMOVE a crying child. 'Nuff said?
GOOD MORNING, EVERYONE!!
Happy Olympic opening ceremonies day!!

You know, @Natalka , maybe like so many other things in the world, people and countries trying to out-do each other, a more humble, honest ceremony might just be what's needed these days. We seem to expect each successive ceremony to out-perform anything that's been done before, and are 'disappointed' when fireworks aren't shooting out of people's butts.
Personally, I'm looking forward to what's been described as an all-inclusive ceremony celebrating the many cultures that have contributed to Brazil over the years, audience participation. Maybe that's what the Olympics were always meant to be.
{{{stepping elegantly off her soap-box}}}...jmho. I hope it does go off without a hitch, too...

I agree, Lynn - I think it's enough when each country just showcases itself in its own way. I'm looking forward to some amazing music, and lots of colourful costumes!

Unfortunately, behind the scenes in Brazil, particularly in Rio, violence and death have once again raised their ugly heads. Before the Fifa world cup in 2014 and now, police and military have once again exhibited a "shoot first and ask questions later" policy. I even doubt many questions have been either asked or answered.

With just over a month to go until the Rio 2016 opening ceremony, the pre-Olympic legacy includes more than 2,500 people killed by the police in the city since 2009, when Rio de Janeiro won its bid to host the Games. Over the past few weeks, the sense of defeat has grown before the Games even get under way, with daily shootings and police operations leaving a trail of blood in several of Rio’s favelas.

I'm guessing this issue won't be raised during the ceremonies this evening. As a matter of face, it's been largely glossed-over in any news programs I've watched, if mentioned at all. Usually a one-liner for those killed.

On August 5, 1967 I was a very well behaved flower girl. I also do not approve of parents permitting their children to make spectacles of themselves. It's just in such poor taste & the height of bad manners. It is my honest to goodness hope that you're all doing well & fine today.
