I had my Sous-vide cooking lesson today and I am excited to start trying some recipes. the meat my sister cooked was like butter and it was a cheap bottom round cut. It will definitely take some trial and error but I love trying new recipes and methods. I feel blessed to have received the appliance!
I spent 15.35 on 3 kg of frozen chicken breasts today and picked up a few camping food items for my son, he is taking an outdoor winter survival course next weekend and he needs a few things, I hope that is it for me for the next week, we are well stocked!
Have a wonderful evening.

I've been having jaw pain for quite some time. It has gotten worse in the last few weeks. I've tried stretching exercises, but it's not really helping. I've tried doing facial massage on myself this fall, but I'm not sure how much it helped. I also have sinus pain, but after seeing the Optomitrist, dentist, and ear nose and throat soecialist, no one figured out the cause. I was told to try a sinus spray, but it's not good to use that long term. I'm somewhat looking for suggestions. I saw the dentist in August and I'll be going for a dental cleaning again in February.

walks, I was thinking the same thing - grinding or clenching (which is what I do and have TMJ from). However, a dentist should have been able to diagnose that.
Angela, hope you get some answers and relief soon.

Mom of 5 Boys, I don't know how to drill into tiles but wonder if there is a rail that will suction on securely for short term use? Maybe ask at the hardware store or home health store for rent or online. What I have done as a temp measure for my grandma and my Mum is put a towel on the bottom of the shower to prevent slipping and put a plastic lawnchair in the shower to sit on. May or may not work for you depending on the size of your shower and on how steady your inlaws are on their feet.

@Ciel I am using the free version of Everydollar. The Plus allows connection to your debit card. We don't use our debit cards. We treat our credit card like a debit card and then pay it off in full and take advantage of credit card rewards. I was disappointed to see that there was not a credit card option, but it will save me money. It just means I have to type in my spending rather than drag and drop...I was typing on my spreadsheet anyway.
@sweet sparrow Congrats on you and LO graduating for good feeding. I have been in your position with two of my children and it is stressful. I am glad you are free of that burden.
@Angela273 Thank you for sharing everything you have been through. Congratulations on 10 years of life after a very difficult time. I am still ill. I have been fighting viruses since December 14. There is no way to tell, but I believe there were two and the second one I am fighting hit Christmas eve and everyday I wake up with sore throat and fatigue. I will be visiting the doctor's Fri, if there is not improvement, as I start back to work Monday and have spend my entire break ill. All this to say, thank you for sharing your daily struggle. It encourages me in my own, in which, there should be an end point. I keep saying as soon as the light comes, the tunnel gets longer...I know that people live whole lives like this. Today I acknowledge your tunnel and pain.Last edited by Granger; Wed, Jan 4th, 2017 at 08:25 AM.

Good morning! We are getting a major snowstorm today. Glad to be safe at work.
Stopped at SDM on my way to work for work. 9380 SDM points for me and used my PC World MC so 3x the PC points as well.
Lunch- I brought leftovers from last night. Chicken breast baked topped with tomato and feta with a bit of rice.
Dinner tonight is suppose to be homemade pizza but we will see what time everyone gets home at.
Have a great day everyone!

I have it in my bathroom, I'll try to remember to post the name later. Some nasal sprays can thin the lining in your sinuses over time. I can't use antihistamine because I am nursing. I know that I have a lot of allergies, mostly environmental. The last time I was tested for allergies was in high school. I was allergic to 30 out of 32 things that they tested for. Completing the test made my body go on overload. I had to be taken home to have a long nap. I constantly have various amounts of sinus congestion.
I could call our medical coverage and see what coverage we might have for mouth guards. I've considered it in the past. Dh says that I don't grind my teeth very often at night, but I used to do it years ago while falling to sleep. I do catch myself clenching my jaw sometimes during the day. I try to consciously relax it and stretch.Last edited by Angela273; Wed, Jan 4th, 2017 at 12:02 PM.

Afternoon everyone,
Tomorrow I have an appointment 45 minutes away so dh said it would make more sense to check out the Juke then as it's only another 30 minutes which suits me better anyways, I hate travelling.
I have a pork roast in the oven on a slow cook, I stocked up in November and apparently I shouldn't have as the kids both hate pork roast.....can't win for trying, however, they're quite capable of fixing themselves something given their ages 13 & 16. That's the new rule which I am enforcing this year
Dh is working his way up to painting Jaden's (ds1) door and window trim....I'm going forward with the attitude that I'll do as much as I can myself (need to repaint the upstairs doors), I'm hoping to get this done in January and go from their.
Wishing everyone a great day, going to work on my January to do list for myself and get motivated as things progress.
@sweet sparrow great news about your LO not needing supplements and a little more sleep for you
@Angela273 hope you feel better soon
@Granger wishing you a speedy recovery as well
Wishing everyone a great day2019 is the year that we continue to save before we buy!!!

J and C-another suggestion for the roasts is cubing them and making souvlaki skewers-can be BBQ'd or grilled with or without veggies and served plain with rice or on a pita with anything you wish-ceasar dressing, tzatziki, lettuce, onion, tomato etc. Each person could design theirs around own around their tastes as I think your guys are not into veggies either. You could marinate it with a little olive oil and Greek spice or whatever you have on hand ahead of time to help keep it moist while cooking. Good idea to have the boys fix their own if they don't like it-my Mum had 5 kids and if you didn't like dinner you could make yourself a peanut butter sandwich or wait until the next meal!!
I notice my DD who is now mostly vegetarian( no red meat) was eating burgers etc while away at Xmas to be polite and eat what was served-wish our kids would do this at home-lol.

Great idea with the use of pork roasts Lizzie, I do this quite often and it is always a hit!!!
I did a kitchen/cooking gaff on Christmas eve, I was pre roasting a huge cookie sheet of roasted broccoli, my plan was to cook it just a bit and then finish it on Christmas day to save time. Well I added 2 tablespoons of minced ginger to it instead of the minced garlic I had prepped and well I din't see it working well with turkey and gravy! I froze it all and tonight I am making beef and broccoli with it, the ginger will be fine and it won't be wasted. I am determined to have less produce waste this year so I feel it is a win!!
My husband came home from work after lunch today not feeling well and I am afraid I am the next to go down, feeling achey, and weak and an annoying headache. I am going to forge ahead today in case it settles in and I am worse tomorrow, I have a fairly long to do list this week and I would like to stay on track.
My non shopping is going well, I noticed IGA will have mangos for 1.00 which is great, so that will be the treat for the week!! I do have to buy flour, I ran out doing my Christmas baking and I have a bag of spelt flour that needs to be used so I will bake bread for the rest of the month, my son has also requested homemade pitas so that will be next weeks projects. I enjoy baking bread but my husband is on his crazy no bread diet so I will have to make it while he is at work so I don't make him crazy with the smell!!Last edited by thriftygranny; Wed, Jan 4th, 2017 at 05:14 PM.
