I'd love to be carved like a pumpkin in those spots that really hurt

I am in shock, I went to spine dr yesterday for assessment and was told it is going to get way worse and surgery is not going to be considered for 10 years because it works in only 50% of patients. He will consider it when I am no longer able to walk at all. I have finally been referred to a pain clinic (hopefully it won't be a 2 yr wait) and they said they put needles into the area that hurts and it makes the pain go away for months??? At this point since drs can't figure out what is causing my RUQ pain I am trying to get the rest of my body fixed so I can work!!! Heres my rant I waited all this time knowing I was finally going to get an answer but to get the answer I had to pay 100 to be seen by the back clinic, now I have to pay for physio and I haven't worked for 2 1/2 years, where am I supposed to get the money from for the treatment, and if I don't go to physio will that go against me that I am not trying?? I know alot of people don't understand the dilema of being broke, we have extended health coverage (we're lucky) but we have to pay up front and then wait for a reimbursement and sometimes it weeks. More stress!!!!!

I hear you, it seems nowadays in the health field, you have to be worse before they will do anything. As for surgery, it is a big risk because you
could end up worse off.
Perhaps your Provincial Health Plan will cover your physio. I know they do
in Ontario.
I hope and pray that you will be able to figure out what to do.
Take it one day at a time, because that is all one can do sometimes.Always remember the What are you thankful for today? thread as there always is something to be thankful for.

Thx Skippy, I am so sore today after a day of probing yesterday. I don't know how much more I can handle.

Well everyone, I really did a number today.
I tripped over an extension cord(intended for Christmas lights-Grr!!) and
managed to hit the wall, rather than land on the floor.
Now my right ribs and hand are in agony!

Ouch! Better get to the hosp to make sure nothing's broken.
Something funky is going on with me. I think I'm anaemic again (was doing well there for a while) & I'm feeling weaker than I should be. Good thing the dog is willing to do some housework, or I'd be in trouble.

Skippy and Andit I hope you are both doing a bit better than your last posts. I found out the referral to chronic pain dr can take up to a year!!
