SC forum members save in various ways so, do you coupon?
Are you a big couponer or do you just use them occasionally?
What about the rebate apps like Checkout51, Zweet etc
Have you tried Coupgon yet
(it has mobile coupons where you save on your shop, not getting $$ back as a rebate)

Since I started about 2years ogo I got addicted to it like a drug. Now I would say I am a average couponer. I learned a lot from smartcanucks and the great members who posted there deal. Since I coupon so much I am able to donate more .

Yes yes and yes as a sahm of a big family I'm always looking for new ways to save. I stockpile within reason and coupon for items my family needs.
The cashback apps and loyalty programs go hand in hand. I don't pay regular price for anything anymore

Occasionally..very few coupons out here. Though I do use Metro et Moi. I once won 10k points on a scratch card (=$80). I normally get $40-60 back per 3 or 4 months in store credit.
Short answer : no Long answer : NOOOOOOOOOOO!

I use coupons a lot, but I haven't been trading coupons very much. I have made my own list of companies to contact to request coupons from. I used 4 coupons today for a total of $3.50.
I use a variety of rebate and money saving apps. Checkout 51, Zweet, Caddle, CO-OP (includes coupon abd CO-OP specific coupons), PC Plus, 7-Eleven, KFC, Air Miles (to easily check my balance).
For those who shop at Sobeys or Safeway, you should check out the weekly offers that you can load digitally onto your Air Miles card. Getmyoffers.ca They are available each Friday and are valid for 2 weeks. Two items each week are 50% off and then there are additional Air Miles offers.Last edited by Angela273; Tue, Jan 31st, 2017 at 07:49 PM.

I am not an obsessive couponer. There will be weeks that go by that I don't use a coupon. There will be times that I will use 5. 6, 7 coupons in one shopping trip. It all depends on the product and the coupon available for it. I won't use a coupon on an item that I don't need or use just because I have the opportunity to get it free or almost free. I also find that the coupons available just suck, for lack of a better word. I don't print at home and I don't do the mobile app thingies... yet. So I guess you could call me a casual couponer.

We do most of the above and the savings are great but I have to admit a lot of it is also the "hunt and the kill" of finding the deal and making it work

Depends....
- if it's less than a dollar... it's not worth my time. Can't believe some coupons need an envelope and stamp to get something.
- love instant rebates right at the till
- love Superstores PC Plus points app... makes it so convenient.
- isn't a sale a coupon?

What we consume has changed a lot since I first started couponing. For example, I traded my swiffer products for a norwex mop & dust mitt, and traded gain/tide for the 5 Gal pail of Nellie's laundry detergent from Costco that I buy once per year. So we don't use as many coupons any more, but I still check a few times a month to grab anything we may use especially for toilet paper!
I always wait for sales if possible (Nellie's comes on sale for $20 off each October), price match, build loyalty points and check the rebate apps.
I do use Coupgon at our Local Co-op and Save on Foods. I have a smartphone, so I usually check what offers are available when I walk into the store.
I'm still using up my stockpile of toiletries, so I might end up couponing more often when it comes time to stock up again. I think I had about 2 yrs worth of shampoo, conditioner and body wash that I've been working through.

We find that most of what's offered in coupons aren't products we use. We primarily shop the perimeter of grocery stores except for a few lanes now and then, so not much in the way of coupons around here for fresh fruits, veggies, meats, dairy, etc. DH has scored a few SCOPs, so he's on to that, and I think he uses the PC points thing, but that's about it.
