GTA gets an early taste of winter

Some GTA residents are waking up to a light dusting of snow this morning, not to mention temperatures below the freezing mark. A special weather statement was issued by Environment Canada for parts of the GTA and beyond, including northern York and Durham regions, Newmarket, Huron-Perth and Barrie. The average high for this time of year is 13 degrees, with an average low of about 4 degrees. The good news is we'll see a bit of a warm up tomorrow with the mercury set to top 14.

Winnipeg police issue their first cannabis ticket Wednesday

Day one of legal cannabis went off for the most part, without a hitch. There were no notable disturbances here in the GTA -- the only major issue came from Winnipeg where a driver was slapped with a near $700 fine for allegedly smoking while behind the wheel. Shares in cannabis companies took a bit of a dive. Tilray, Canapy Growth Corp and Aurora Cannabis all finished down on the day. Many analysts are calling it the beginning of the end to the "financial cannabis rainbow".
