. Broccoli price was in the stratosphere last week - and apples are up there this week

Think I will buy more of the PC frozen veggies that we love that are on this week at RCSS and No Frills.

Broccoli pieces lurk in Walmart's Great Value Fruit & Veggie smoothie blends in the frozen foods section. I'll probably find reduced broccoli on occasion at Fortinos but during winter, I usually rely on No Name or Arctic Gardens California blend of veggies to get my cruciferous intake (unless I roast cauliflower florets with curry!).

I lived in BC for 15 years - and I must say it took me forever (read never did get used to) their fresh fruit and veggie prices. Most things were sold by the pound or kg - do you know how heavy celery is?! So when I came back here last year - I was in heaven with the choices of stores in my area that offered variety at a liveable price
Did not take me long to appreciate it — sooo, I guess I’ll refrain from grousing - sorry about my previous post

Yes, Around the world, that's one of the biggest problems in the holiday season. Hope we can afford that, that we celebrate a Christmas eve and new years eve 2019 with joy. That we can save more than to spent much and nothing left over. Enjoy another year with happiness in our face. You can send advance greetings with beautiful collection here > happynewyear2019.org Greeting to you all a Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year!

yes happy new year everybody
I fell asleep on the couch last night hubby and I had takeout from fortinos wings/fries and I had their pizza slice -oh so good
Made hubby come with me as I had a stomach ache all day at son's ,then was running for the ladies room when I was at my house ,so needless to say I didn't get a few groceries
Someone was really loud at midnight with fireworks a street over ,woke me up as I went to bed at 9.30 and was up at 5.00 a.m this morning
Gonna go get Ashlyn this afternoon to sleep over tonight -as I have to watch her on Wednesday anyway so she will stay at our house I have paints, crayons , a few barbies ,she looked tired yesterday as I watched her and its hard as I was holding cara most of the day -I feel she needs this little extra bit of attention from nana and papa
Just cashed out of checkout51 $57.00 so that made my day haven't cashed out since oct was waiting til we were in the new yearLast edited by coupon girl; Tue, Jan 1st, 2019 at 10:39 AM.

Happy New Year everyone! Like a lot of people here, my resolution is to make this the most frugal year ever. I may have to spend as much or more than in other years, but it won't be for lack of trying to cut back. The world has just become more expensive. This morning I looked through the Canadian Assoc. of Retired Persons Ultimate List of Discounts https://dealhack.ca/blog/canadian-senior-discounts. BTW, some of the discounts start at 50. Wish I could afford to retire...but that's a different subject.

I might take your lead from the Dec 2018 thread. I kept track of my stuff sold and money made from my garden. I might want to keep track of the other savings too. I just reallocate the savings throughout the year and don’t always see just how much I saved, since this is my everyday shopping practices. I don’t like to pay regular price and I’m sure you guys don’t either.

Welcome Flemeth. Just dropped DD off at the ariport for her flight back to UBC-security had quite a long line(+30 minutes) so glad we dropped her off a little early with it being a holiday. I did pay for a checked bag this time as she had Xmas gifts etc to take back. DH filled up the car on our way home as I am sure the cheap gas will not last forever. We have done some cleaning and will also head out for a walk since it is above freezing.
