My SDM does not have it yet either. It is not their fault. They get it when they are given it. They should have it in the next week or so I believe. You can always go to your physician or local health clinic also, if they have the shots.

I was at my doctor today and asked for the shot and he told me that his office have them on order but they have not recieve any as of yet. When they get it in they are going to call me and put one aside for me. I have lung problems so it is important that i get one.

Here they won't be available until month's end.
I get mine from a home care nurse, who used to be a public health nurse.
Husband gets his from our family doctor.
Son will probably get his from a pharmacy.

there are going to be two different flu shots available this year for those age 65 and older. one that you can just walk in and get from your pharmacy and the other requires a prescription.

65 and older
For the 2018/2019 season, if you're 65 and older, there are two different flu shots available – standard dose and high-dose.
Both shots are effective – do not delay getting vaccinated. Your doctor or nurse practitioner can answer any questions you might have.
To get the standard-dose vaccine, which protects against 4 strains of flu virus:
- visit a doctor or nurse practitioner
- contact your local public health unit
- visit a participating pharmacy
To get the high-dose vaccine, (also called "Fluzone® HighDose"), which protects against 3 strains of flu virus, but in higher doses:
- visit a doctor or nurse practitioner
- contact your local public health unit

We have our appointments at our local Health Unit no line-ups to tangle with.
Much prefer going there, they have all the stats on our shots and keep excellent records. We've also received our shingles shots there, and I've received my pneumonia one.
