Hello friends! It has been a sad couple of days as a good friend from our church passed away Friday from ovarian cancer. She just turned 51.
She was a bundle of energy and positivity- championing the rights of those who had a lesser voice in society. She was part of a team locally to end Homelessness in our community by the end of this year and get affordable housing built.
She has been living in Niagara Falls with her sister since Christmas when she was diagnosed and she has been receiving chemo and radiation there.
Just last Sunday she asked our minister to announce to our congregation this Sunday that she had decided not to have any more treatment . She and her sister's family were to go to their cottage this next week for a change and a rest.
But the good Lord took her on Friday.
I am so very sad. Been crying a fair bit.
There will be a memorial service at our church on July 11 so we have to figure out just how this can be arranged. We have had no devices there since March.
Such a generous, loving soul taken way too early.
I know you all have experienced hard losses. Thanks for listening.

@avoncallingu
So sorry about the loss of your friend 🙏
....
Only bit of good news is that I can walk by myself with the walker, only short distances though. Husband still holds me as I walk in the evening, when I am more tired out.
Sleep has been elusive, not a good time for it - I need the healing.
Hope you are all having a nice weekend!

Thank you, @Natalka , seems I knew him the first time I saw him in our high school lunchroom. I told my friends at the time that "he's the one I'm going to marry". They laughed....then stood at our wedding, hahaha. It was like the song by the BarenakedLadies, "Its All Been Done Before". I hope we can do this again.
Good for you for being able to stand and walk with your walker. The more steps each day, the stronger you'll get. I know it's hard, but it's amazing how quickly strength is restored.
Wishing you a better night's sleep tonight, Nat.

@Natalka, so sorry to hear about your ongoing troubles. I hope you're able to enjoy some relief very soon @avoncallingu, condolences on the loss of your friend
@Lynn49, happy anniversary! So glad you were able to celebrate with your family
@walkonby, is Disney+ worth it, in your opinion? DD wants to spend her birthday money on it because of the Hamilton movie coming out soon. I'm sure I told you all that she was shafted out of the stage performance in Toronto because of this damn virus. And I want to see the Mandelorian
To anyone I've left out, good morning, good afternoon and good evening, have a great day

Good morning all.
@Natalka , today is a new day, hope you're feeling better friend.
@avoncallingu , condolences from the the Lady and I.
@GoJays , pick your poison. with all that is out there right now, in terms of streaming services, you have to pick your poison. The lady and I have almost reached the end of Netflix...(is that possible?) so we've been watching a lot on Prime Video. I've watched the Mandalorian, but we don't have Disney+. On that note, have you guys updated your internet situation? If you're on unlimited now, there are plenty of streaming websites you can use that will allow you to stream certain shows...
Everyone else, I hope the short week (albeit a wonky one with the holiday in the middle) treats you well.
Now it's to work for me...I need to finish early today so I can fix Cooper's in ground doggy fence...it's been causing me a great few headaches.
Have a good one Folks.DANGER

Happy Monday!
Thanks to my special group of cheerleaders!
First half of the night was no sleep, then I managed to sleep for a few - so that was nice. I am going to try have a nap soon; my eyes are barely staying open....
I do get dizzy once in a while, but twice in the early aft yesterday, it is was beyond bizarre. Really bad, so I made sure my husband was right beside me. And this was after I was feeling more secure to be back walking myself in the prior day.
Have my been eating well, either - I have been trying!
Arrrghh! To everything!
Hope everyone else's week has begun well!
Oh, look! It's a mini kitten!
