I am getting tired of getting the covid-19 excuse for stupidity. My car dealership has hired a new (not smart) guy for the service repair department. I have an error code that required a small sensor to be ordered. Usually, order on a Monday, there by Wednesday. Two weeks go by, and when I call today (a Monday), he puts me on hold, then says the part should be there on Wednesday, delayed by covid 19. Would have been just annoyed by the delay, but in the background, I can hear the regular service guy saying tell her the truth, you forgot to order!
Some things have been legitimately delayed by the pandemic, but I wish people would stop blaming everything on it!

He/She definitely fumbled that one.
Shipping delays just arent what they were back in April and May. And as it happens, 2-day guaranteed items (which is most likely the case here) were hardly delayed at all. It was non-guaranteed shipments that got held up.
I received 2-day FedEx, UPS, and Canada Post items in the height of the service delays, and still got them on time. (I think one, maybe two, were 1-day late). And yea, I had regular parcels take an exceptional amount of delay (2-3 weeks what normally would take 4-5 days), but that was back in April.
Even if there WAS a delay in your order, it doesnt jump from 2-days to 2-weeks. MAYBE a few business days extra (a total of a week at most). Again, maybe 3 or 4 months ago you could have tacked on 2-weeks... but not now.
Everything I've been ordering lately has been coming in the usual time frame (be it guaranteed or not).

We've become a trio of snapping turtle-like people or that character in Lord of the Rings that keeps saying "my precious" aka "MINE" often. Seems everyone is in someone else's way or one person just has to annoy the others during this winter edition of stay at home during pandemic lockdown. Snow stomping helps for a few minutes. Not surprised that I sometimes retreat back to my room where a warm throw or cozier bed invite me to read a book and ignore the other two family members. Would like an additional kitchen, sitting room/library and a half-bathroom that have better soundproofing and windows than the house does currently. I can dream.

Had to spend full price on calendars for the family the other day. We always go shopping in the new year for heavily discounted calendars, but this year had to order online with no discounts. Thanks covid
