I was able to stock up in Cape Verde on Coke O-still pricey but less than half of the price on the ship. Good thing as now we have 7 sea days to Namibia and otherwise I would have none as not paying ship prices.

This is a guilty post BUT I like to justify my purchases when they are " wants ", not needs.
Lets start in 1979....lol. DH bought me a massive Oster Kitchen Centre with many attachments and extras.
Was KitchenAid even a thing back then? I have no idea.

It finally died in 2020. I was aghast at the prices of KitchenAid stand mixers so in April 2021 treated myself
to a less expensive brand ( Cook Lee ). Also came with 8 or so add on items with an 8.5 Quart mixing bowl.

Today I got this! ( early birthday gift from my DH )

Name: 5 lb. stand mixer no mug.jpg

When I need to cream butter and sugar and then add eggs to make various single loaves or cakes,
the hand held beater is my go to BUT can be annoying as the stuff tends to fly out of the bowl.
Same when whipping a small amount of meringue. The larger stand mixer can be a hassle to drag
out and the ingredients barely reach the whisk or beaters.
This 5 pound mini mixer comes with two 3 quart bowls and is like a step up from a TOY! ha ha

For a $10 Visa prepaid card in Canada, expect an activation fee around $3.95 to $4.95 plus tax, though lower-value cards can sometimes have lower fees, but often these small denominations (like $10) aren't readily available or have less common fees, with more standard fees for $20-$50 cards, so always check the package at purchase. The fee is paid upfront when you buy it, reducing the initial usable balance, and it's a one-time charge, according to Frugal Flyer and Canada.ca.

But what does it mean, "The fee is paid upfront when you buy it, reducing the initial usable balance". So when you receive the card, the fee is already taken?
Activation fees are usually paid by the company not the consumer.

Huh?!? There is no fee. You get $10 on the card to use.

Did my groceries today at Maxi and was able to get the Janes Cosmic Chicken Nuggets for $1.99. These are hit of the month at $3.50 but I think many banners under Loblaws are marking them down.

My best deal this week was when the airport found my missing fanny pack-saved me about 700 in missing cash and the cost of possibly replacing my brand new lost British passport.

Found 11x 750mL cartons of choc milk at Walmart for $0.74 each. I'll use 'nature's freezer' outdoor.

RCSS had 8kg sacks of long-grain Goodas rice for $10. That's a really good deal, for $0.57 / lb. However, I've still got nearly 200lbs in my closet. I hope that the Grocery Gods will forgive me not taking the bounty they offer.

Salvaged 4lbs or so of beans from the dump, on my way out.
My food may not befit a king, but I eat like a horse.

Best deal is the snow blower DH bought 27 years ago that still works like a charm. He cleared at least 4 driveways in the area as well as ours in this big massive dump of snow.

We have an angel like that on our street, clearing many neighbours paths. Plus he's always smiling when he uses his snowblower, it's like a toy for him.
