Sounds like you had your Thanksgiving dinner early WOB. Of course it is so yummy always good to have extra meals just like that!

@lizzie bargain It sure felt like a Thanksgiving feast! The guys took a serving of it in for their work meal the next day so it went fast.
Today I made TWO things. The first was a Tamale Casserole. The bottom mixture was chili based ( meaty, beans and cheesy! ) with a
cornmeal batter topping with corn niblets in it.
Also simmered a homemade pot of Chx soup so I could make a batch of cornmeal dumplings. The idea was to make a dent in my stockpile
of cornmeal. It helped a bit but these 2 recipes only used about one cup. If my guys would eat Polenta I'd make that but they're not fans of it.

Skillet dinner of hamburger, onion, rice and peas-used to make this all the time when I was younger. Very tasty!

Made a tomato sauce with fresh garlic and tomatoes.
Making pasta for whoever wants it on pasta. I am thinking I will have it with leftover chicken....
Will make DS a dinner container for tomorrow night and then the leftover sauce will be put in the freezer for another day.

I inquired while shopping at Metro this a.m. about the beef short ribs on sale. Was it possible to get them with no bones?
The butcher said he'd have to remove the meat off the bones. I'm looking for 4 servings, each one about to 2 " high x 2" across,
similar to a round filet mignon steak when they wrap bacon around them.
Their meat order wasn't arriving until this afternoon, so I'm to phone early Tuesday and if I am o.k. with the price he sets I'll place
the order. Will be for a fancy special dinner I'm planning. I hope freezing these short ribs isn't an issue, maybe I'll check if they were
    previously frozen.

I have been buying a very large French loaf freshly made sub at Sobeys for $13.99. It serves about 5 and I had a piece for both lunch and supper. Simple and had all the food groups.
Can't beat under $3 per serving.
