Hi, all - just getting back into regular food after having been in the hospital.
Tonight was our Thanksgiving meal, thanks to much help from my husband and, later, our son. Tried to simplify things, but there was still too much!
Baked ham with tons of garlic studded through it
Ham garlic sausage
Perogies
Sauteed onions
Sauteed bacon
Coleslaw
Brussel sprouts
Dessert - pretty sure no one will have any tonight, but we have had them for a few days already - pumpkin pie, real whipped cream, cherry tarts.
The men are more apt to snack on more ham!

Oh my gosh Natalka...I hope you are ok and your hospital stay fixed you right up❣️
Tonight is our thanksgiving dinner and there will only be 6 of us. It’s unusual to have such a small group but my mil is coming and because she is deaf, she becomes easily overwhelmed in large groups. She’s 84 and I am gladly making this concession for her❤️
I’m roasting a turkey with herbed stuffing, lots of gravy(I make extra by simmering extra turkey wings), mashed potatoes, homemade tiny cabbage rolls, Brussels sprouts with bacon and garlic, steamed broccoli and cheese sauce, buns and butter, apple crisp, pumpkin ice cream pie and caramel corn.

..a couple of weeks ago I cooked a turkey and froze some of the leftover meat & gravy, etc..so this evening having hot turkey, stuffing, sweet potato, potato/turnip mashed with butter & sour cream, etc, green peas, warmed dinner rolls with butter and I currently have a blueberry cheesecake in the oven (berries I picked a few weeks ago and froze) hopefully it doesn't turn out too messy with frozen berries TBD
HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!!Last edited by KelJo; Mon, Oct 8th, 2018 at 02:24 PM.

Oh, I am so jealous of the turkey meals!!
Tonight, leftover baked ham, oven fries, leftover coleslaw and brussel sprouts, two cabbage rolls - bits and pieces sure add up, though.
@sueshe
I got a pacemaker put in Monday (had a temp one done Sunday night), and the difference is amazing! I have known for a year I have congestive heart failure (I am only 57), so my heart has been working at about 40%, but my heartrate was normal. That is, until a month ago when it has been in mid-30s to 40.
Two weeks ago I fainted. Last Saturday I fainted and fell even though I was standing with a walker. Sunday I went into the ER, my heartrate had gone down to 19. That evening the cardiologist did the temporary fix, then the implant was done first thing Monday.
So I have to heal from that, I am just very weak, then build on getting other things better - which will now be easier with a regular beating heart! A very huge thing for me to be thankful for!

Oh my gosh Natalka! You’ve been through so much and at such a young age. I’m so glad the doctors were able to diagnose and fix up your heart❣️ Sending prayers for a complete healing❤️

Tonight will be Homemade Chicken Nuggets with Poutine using Oven Fries, grated Cheddar & Homemade Gravy. Think I will also make a Cesar Salad to go with it.
