Took out a few chicken breasts and 4 small packages of pork chops at lunch today. Will make rice and pasta and fresh carrots that need to be used up. Will put in the fridge in separate containers and they can just fill a plate and heat choosing what they want.
I am on a mission to clean out the freezer and use up food on hand.
I will take a roast beef out tonight and prep onions/carrots/potatoes for a roaster and have it ready for DS to put in the oven when he gets home from school tomorrow.Last edited by Frugalbigmama; Wed, Dec 18th, 2019 at 02:56 PM.

Got ground beef, a big package on sale at Walmart in the clearance for 3.99. normally 10 bucks. Got some beans, tomatoes, celery and onions for around that same amount. Gonna make use of the new dutch oven and make a nice chili with buns.

Just making the Christmas Cracker ravioli filling atm, then I'll run the dough through the pasta maker, cut and fill. These adorable little bundles can be made ahead and frozen. This is one of the small courses we are serving on the 25th before the main meal...just 3 per guest and the sauce is amazingly simple...butter and clementine juice.

I mean really....did I have to cook food considering we'll be feasting in a couple of days?
No matter, there's Air Fried roasted chicken legs in the fridge, a whack of phyllo pastry filled pockets ( butternut squash/ricotta filling ) and a giant blade steak flaky pastry meat pie. Choose yer poison! ha ha

Merry Christmas everyone!!! Christmas kicked off last night with Tibb's Eve celebrations...I, unfortunately ended up with a bleeding stomach ulcer a couple+ weeks ago so my celebrations are at a minimum lol things are under control now after a couple of blood transfusions, and I'm feeling much better. Since moving home to NFLD my beloved grandmother has passed but I will go to her house this evening and we will carry on the traditions of baked salted cod fish, sweet raisin molasses bread (I'm making hasbrown casserole) and lots of other goodies...and then continue the traditions at my uncles's house with a pork fry and lots of other food!! We are currently under a Winter Storm Warning so hopefully the weather is not too bad later, everyone is within walking distance anyway!! Cheers!
