This meal cost a total of $10 and fed our family of 5.

$2 for the two packages of gnocchi (clearance at Sobeys, best by Jan 5)
$1.50/lb cherries (holiday clearance at NF)
$2/lb pork steaks (bought pork loin on sale, cut up at home and froze for future use)
Tomorrow we’ll have chili with baked potatoes, rice, or French bread.

Tonight I am going to make Balsamic Chicken with Mushrooms over Mashed Potatoes with Broccoli on the side.
Also popped in a pan of Peanut Butter Blondies (which I added in some Chocolate Chips) for Dessert.
-
Today I am boiling up a ham bone and using that as a base for black bean soup.
-
Last night was mini naan pizzas. Sautéed balsamic onions, garlic and field roast garlic and fennel plant based sausage. Simple, fast and tasty.
-
Mom requested French Onion Pasta Bake for Dinner so that is dinner.
I will have a cucumber salad on the side since I am trying to get back in the habit of eating my body weight in cucumbers each week. Plus I need to use some up because I did not go to one of the Pot Lucks I have an extra package to use and I am up for the challenge.

A delightful surprise RSVP from my sis and BIL who will join us here for New Years Eve and a sleepover! That way DH can imbibe a bit.
I'm making up a rib sticking roast pan with thick blade steaks, then roasting mini spuds, sweet potatoes and carrots in the beef juices.
That'll be for later tonight, we'll have to start with few appy sausage rolls, and " cheesy something's ? " as they are arriving by 3 p.m.
The Mulled wine that I never got around to making at Christmas could be an option at some point. Plus dessert item of whole dates stuffed
with Brie, wrapped in bacon and into the oven!

Oh my-I have no idea what is for dinner. OTOH I am taking my Mum out for lunch so I probably won't need dinner-hubby will eat leftovers and homemade soup.
-
We are having an impromptu Appetizer night (I had planned on Homemade Pizza, but got reminded we ALWAYS have appetizers for New Year's Eve). I thought about running the to the store but decided against it so instead we are using/making what we have on hand:
Homemade Mozzarella Sticks
Homemade "Deep Fried" Pickles (I actually make them in the air fryer)
Potato Skin Bites (Using some Mini Potatoes I had on hand and perfect because I did not want to have to peel these)
Chicken Strips (I think I have 4 or 5 left in the freeze, let's use them up and toss the bag)
Dill Pickle Salad Kit (I need to use this up and was going to make it with the Pizza)
If this is not enough I also have Perogies I could make but seem like a little much. The only thing we are missing is Spring Rolls and Brie but it is what it is.

Tonight I made taco salad. We also had sliced apple and fresh cherries with it. Brownies for dessert tonight.
-
Sushi and veggie tray last night.
Tonight mini naan pizzas using the discounted vegan sausage I bought few days ago.
-
Today was one of those days where I was not craving anything and everything was just meh, but finally decided on:
Parmesan Crusted Pork Chops, Roasted Butternut Squash, Brussel Sprouts and some Roasted Potatoes.
-
Tonight we had gnocchi, lean ground beef with sauce, steamed California veg, fresh cherries, and bagged Taylor Farms salad.
Tomorrow I’m making home made sweet and sour pork, rice, mixed veggies.
I’ll turn the leftover rice into fried rice. I have cooked roast ham in the freezer for an easy addition to my fried rice.

I am cheating a little tonight, awhile ago I bought some Butter Chicken Sauce for something different and it was on sale (I am limited as to what brands I can buy since Mom is allergic to Coconut), I am making this tonight. I will add mushrooms for some veggies and serve over rice.
I do want to try to make my own, I did try one recipe but it was disappointing, I found another recipe to try but don't have all the spices needed so will grab those next time I close to Bulk Barn.

So embarrassed as we are going out to another restaurant for dinner. DH is on vacation and this is his way of enjoying his time off.
I won't argue but my diet is taking a lashing! DS is staying home enjoying a giant sushi platter and DH won't touch any of that stuff.
Good thing I only ate 1 small meal this morning.

Last night was a tofu bolognese with rigatoni.
The plan for tonight is chili tofu chicken and either rice or couscous depending on what I have the energy for.
