DS had a birthday party in the afternoon, DH and I had a snack at Superstore, so we weren't very hungry. But I had a 'big cook' planned, and went forward with that. I made lemon loaf, a big lasagna that is mostly for the freezer (although we both dug into it a bit after 8 p.m.). Tomorrow I'll make banana bread (once I get more eggs) and maybe a beef stew for the freezer.
Funny (but not really), when you lose someone, the strange places you look for them. I lost my mother in July, and when I cook some things, that's one of the times I think of her. Lasagna was her dish, DH LOVED her lasagna. I rarely made it anyhow because she always did, but this was the first time I've made it without her guidance. Last week it was her chowder that I wanted to ask her about.
