You can get chicken or beef shawarma.
They make a huge tall stack of seasoned chicken breasts on a vertical skewer which turns in a rotisserie. They slice it off the outside and then serve a heap of it on top of rice or in a wrap. You get some creamy white sauce on top (tzatziki?) and then some hot sauce. I make sure to tell them just a LITTLE hot sauce.
And then fresh hummus with pita bread and some of that parsley salad w/onions and tomato. I usually try to cook up a little batch of tabbouleh (bulgur wheat) ahead and then it's ready to quickly mix in with the parsley. A few drops of sesame oil, olive oil, fresh lemon juice, sesame seed, S & P, and then you have a great veggy dish.
Cooking bulgur wheat is fast. Toss the bulgur wheat w/some olive oil first and let sit for a minute or two. Then cook with an equal measure of stock. Just a minute or two and then let cool. Stir w/a fork.
Now ya know and now we're all hungry!

Turkey with all the trimmings. Cool enough to cook a big meal inside.

Wow, I haven't had 'real' tourtiere in ages - just the frozen Schneiders one, which is a very pale imitation.
When I was growing up, we'd go to our local French school/church's fall supper, and pig out on tourtiere! MMMMMM

Today is going to be scorching hot, so I'm just throwing together a pork stew, shoving it in the oven and not going back in the kitchen til it's done! No stove-cooking today!
