Last night I made chicken and mushroom Alfredo with speghittini and some fresh broccoli. I still need to figure out tonight’s supper.

I’m sorry to hear that. I had major surgery last summer and needed blood transfusions and felt so unwell for a few months, I sympathize with you. My lessening appetite began around menopause and continues even now. My doctor thinks it may have something to do with hormonal changes and prescribed medical marijuana to increase my appetite. It does help to get me to enough calories to survive, but I’m still on the low end. We can’t be healthy if we don’t get enough nutrition

Last time I wanted to go out to eat I ended up cooking. Thinking tonight might be the night to go out but only if we do not have to drive Mom's co worker home.

I wish I knew! I love food, both making it and eating it. In order to get enough nutrition, I don’t buy or eat packaged or canned food or fast food. While those things supply calories, they are lacking in nutrition. My naturopath told me a few years ago that if I cooked from scratch and ate fresh food, I would lose my taste for packaged and fast foods and he was right. But the downside is getting enough calories in,however, I supplement with good vitamins, lots of red wine and no restrictions on fat. I’m always surprised when I see how many frozen meals are available in the grocery store, although I realize it consumer driven because of our increasingly busy lives.

We have lawn bowling this afternoon and then taking mil shopping for summer clothes. She wants to go out for dinner afterwards and she loves fish and chips so we will end up going to a local pub after shopping. They have fish and chips for mil and tons of good things on the menu for me to choose from.
