Thread: I hate when I forget a coupon

June 30th has come and gone and this morning I got a chance to open a trade I had done but had not had the chance to look at it. I forgot it had some FPCs coupons that expired on the 30th. Of course they were for the some products I had been considering buying for a MIR which also expired yesterday.
I have done this a few times in the last few months and it drive me crazy. I also missed a few other FPCs this time around so I end up tossing about $50 in coupons . If I could get my foot around that far I would kick myself in the butt.
I am trying not to stew about it and think about all the great deals I get but it is not helping too much today. This thread is currently associated with: N/A

I know I went through mine yesterday, I was planning a last minute trip to LD but dh had to take my van to work because his truck would not start so instead of shopping I ended up tossing.

I hate that too, totally feel your pain. I threw out all my buy 2 Kelloggs and save a buck that were to expire on the 30th because I didn't think I'd use them. Well low and behold yesterday at No Frills Nutrigrains were 1.99 BAHHHHHHHH.

I've probably had the most expired coupons for June than I have every had, since I just started trading in June pretty much. Lots to throw out. I can't help it though, the majority of coupons that I have if I don't trade them, I don't end up using them, this goes mostly for in-store coupons.
I see it as money that I saved, NOT using the coupons however. My bf says that we end up spending a lot more because of the coupons that we use, buying stuff that we don't need. So I try to only buy stuff that I will use in the near future.

I dislike this too - whether I've forgotten some for a shopping trip, or found expired ones. But my son reminds me - it's not lost money, it would have been a bonus.

That's a very good point. I don't use a ton of coupons because I don't buy a lot of name brand products. To me, I'm not saving money by using a coupon if the product is still more expensive then the normal no-name brand I use. And I can't bring myself to buy something just because I have a coupon for it, even though it is tempting sometimes

No worries-you won't miss what you don't have-look at July 1st as lots of new opportunities-a new month and who knows what deals are calling your name.

My spouse sometimes likes my coupons. I had a save $1 WUB2 Lipton Soups (which he wanted to use) and I forgot it expired yesterday. We even went to the store last night to use some of the June 30 coupons, that one just happened to get missed.
I know mine is not he same, but it happens. Don't beat yourself up about it.

In my case it was a bunch of FPCs so it was free stuff if I had remember. Still the stuff is bonus. Mostly it was nice to have stuff that would have been a 'treat'. I did get lots of free strawberries today so yes July have some nice stuff too.

I also hate that, but I think I have a serious problem.... For the most part I always have my coupons with me, but it has happened twice where I was on my way to a store and realized I didn't have my coupons... And instantly I go into a deep state of depression and I won't go shop.... You would think I was about to go shop naked!

There have been times where I've forgotten coupon(s). Just the other day, I wished I had brought a coupon for Advil.

I agree - it's so easy to start buying stuff you don't really need. I guess the secret is to stick to a budget and not spend more...easier said than done I guess.
I also wonder what others are doing with the money they save. Do you just keep spending more or do you actually put it away? (I wish I was that disciplined!!!)
