Ahh! my wonderful sweet momma made terrific pies too. She's been gone for a long time & I wish I could duplicate her pies.

My mom made wicked meat pies, folks asked if she would make extra for them to buy. She would just give them away, gosh I miss those as well.

Like some of you others, sigh - I miss my mom's pies, too! Most commonly she made apple, but also pumpkin, peach, lemon meringue, chocolate, etc.
Haven't been able to duplicate her amazing pastry - yummy and just flaky enough!
I miss all her baking. Well, I just miss her, period.

I love pie too!!! I made my first pie (and pie crust) a couple of weeks ago. The pie crust was from scratch and it was the first time I've done that...it was a Cherry Raspberry pie. My husband said that I did a good job for my first pie.

I too have a confession to make. I was gonna make a pie yesterday, then all sorts of things came up & ... I made chocolate rice krispies squares instead for my lunch guest today.
Gonna make a pie this weekend, I think. Just have to figure out who to invite over, since I don't want to be alone with a whole pie to myself.
Anyone in downtown Toronto wanna come over for pie?
