Very mild. High of 6 yesterday and light rain for much of it; at 6:30 in the morning, it is still raining lightly. The snow has all but disappeared and our stream is close to overflowing its banks. Our 2 dogs ran off for 2 hours, back into the woods from which they emerged covered with mud and very pleased with themselves. Couldn't even get angry with them. I know there is a bitter patch coming in March -- I just feel it -- but I'm going to start some seeds on st. Patrick's day because I am so impatient for Spring.

What a difference from yesterday, high was a really pleasant 15.

Yep, winter. One dog did like the cat in Heinlein's SF story. He went from door to door, trying to find the one that led into Spring and then sat glaring at me. We have enough firewood to last into April so, finally!, we bought enough this year. Oh, well, it is difficult to complain. And, yet, I still do.
