An early-June snowfall expected.

Meteorologists are monitoring a weather system that appears likely to bring snow this weekend.

Precipitation is forecast to begin as rain over northern and western Newfoundland during the day Saturday, before spreading into central parts of the Island on Saturday night. The rain will later transition to snow as a cold northerly flow results in falling temperatures later Saturday night or Sunday morning. The snow is forecast to taper off during the day Sunday over western Newfoundland, and elsewhere Sunday night or early Monday.

It is too soon to provide a forecast of snowfall amounts, with several factors contributing to uncertainty. Accumulations that occur this late in the season tend to be highly variable and dependent on temperature.

summer is definitely here. we had late afternoon thunderstorms yesterday on the 33rd anniversary of the "barrie tornado".

Lots of 🦊 foxes around lately ..even lots moose ..wondering whats going on ..why so many foxes and moose around

OMG ..went outside this morning it was freezing +2 and high winds... by lunch time it was +12 and sun was out ..went inside put shorts on ..lol ..by time i answer call ..maybe chatting for at least 15 to 20 minutes..when i went out side again it was so darn cool ..weather changes her in second ..then by 3:00 pm it raining ..so now im waiting for snow to come on sunday ..hahaha

Lots of 力 foxes around lately ..even lots moose ..wondering whats going on ..why so many foxes and moose around

in my area for the fox & caribou (we don't have moose on the island) 1) the coyotes send them into the communities 2) people feed them

1 feels like -7, winds are howling, gusting to 100km/hr this afternoon and tonight, rain beating on the windows suppose to turn into 5-10 cm of snow for this evening

Snowfall expected today.

Northern Peninsula: Accumulations of 2 to 5 cm are expected before the snow tapers off today.

West Coast, Central Newfoundland and the Northeast Coast: Rain is forecast to change through ice pellets to snow this morning. Late season snowfall accumulations can be highly variable. Total accumulations of 5 to 10 cm are expected for most areas before the snow tapers off to scattered flurries tonight, however locally higher amounts are possible.
