I have had success using them, but I think it depends on the cashier/store, I've never seen a policy on what safeway officially does.

I use printables at my Safeway with no issues.

Was up at 2:30 this morning travelling on business so I'll be catching a nap before doing the full analysis.
Just thought I'd alert you to what looks the best this coming week (besides Motrin with a coupon again):
Primo Foods Event B6G50 ($7):
Plum Tomatoes 796ml/Beans 540ml $1.50/0.33
Pasta Sauce 680ml/Pizza Sauce Squeeze Bottle 375ml $2/0.0.83
Pasta 900g 2.50/1.33
So 6 Tomatoes/Beans = $9 and you pick up $7 in AM (potential donation).

I was in Safeway today and they said look for 100 wub $100 next week. They didn't know about the web coupon -- thanks sniperc151.
So taking Operabob's math for next week for a mega donation:
So 6 Tomatoes/Beans = $9 and you pick up $7 in AM (potential donation).
So do that 11 x = 99 plus a pack of gum = $100
Pick up $77 in AM plus 100 AM $14= $91
So that would cost you $9 and then you may have a charitable receipt.
I'm starting to collect for 70 gift baskets for families for Xmas so this could work well for those - they baskets include Xmas dinner plus food for about a month.
If anyone spots Cranberry sauce/jelly coupons, stuffing, instant mashed potatoes, gravy - please think of me and snag a few please. I'm willing to trade for these.

What's the better deal this week on Dove Bar Soap 2 x 120 g: Safeway B3G30 @ $2.99 or Shopper's Drug Mart @ $1.99?
September 13 - 19
In the following first number is sale price. Second number is effective value based on $0.14/AM). If there is a multiple offer, ie, B3G15 & B6G45 a third number corresponds to the value of the extra offer.
With effective valuing you can compare the relative prices of a product after accounting for the AirMiles against the same product in another store. For example,
If Coca-Cola is $2.00 with 10 Airmiles it has an effective value of $0.60 [$2 - (10 x $0.14)]. If another store is selling the same product for $1 you know the effect of the AirMiles beats that price.
Print off a copy of the following to take comparison shopping.

There is also an insert this week. Normally the inserts are of dubious value as the bonus offers are often inflated in price. The prices shown are the amount to subtract to get an equivalent price/item. All of the products displayed are NPG (No Price Given).Price shown is amount to subtract/item. Some look like they might have potential. Will start listing these as prices are known:
