Very pretty pendant, Rose. The closest thing I have to that is a souvenir from my dream vacation to the pyramids I took 10 yrs ago. It looks like this:

I figured I needed something special to commemorate my once in a lifetime vacation.
Oh, and good luck trying to abstain from the temptations in the store. Just remember Oscar Wilde: "I can resist everything except temptation".

************my daily rant**************
jode you maybe excusedand anyone else that's having a stressful day. unless other ppls misery turns you on, feel free to continue..
last night after (did i tell u this guys?) had blow up with DS and DH. i hear *crinkle crinkle crinkle* comming from DS room when he's supposed to be sleeping. I go in, I get greeted with a 'WHAT? I'M TRYING TO SLEEP HERE, GET OUT!"
to which i respond by throwing the covers off of him. hm..nothing here but a boy that should be wearing pj's... grab the pillow.
find a stash of cookies. (sorry i hate you now mr.christie), smarties..you name it.
now i know why he has not been sleeping since halloween! i threw everything out. was so mad. (that was xanax #4, to which i had a wonderful dream (sarasm) about someone (dh?) in a coffin, and then they move their head..creeped me right out)
so then this am, was fine. then afterschool, going over homework with him. i said, langauge arts, #1 (priortized list), he kept saying no it's not. i open the scribbler and i point, WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE? that's language arts. What are you supposed to do? THAT'S LANGUAGE ARTS. and he gives me that smirk of his..
the homework went FLYIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIING across the room and i told ds to hide before he goes with it.
(o i forgot asked him to turn up the heat..A NOTCH..he turns it up 8 degrees and roasts me all pm!) and laughed about that too.
so i was inna foul mood. so he takes off, and does his homework. guess where?
out on the deck, it's like 0 degrees and he has no coat on.

educational peer assistants. they are assigned to a student if you can prove that they require assistance or supervison (in our case) for a child with medical or behaviour issues (the latter in our case). they are very hard to get, because of budgets etc. ryan could not do school w/o, lately tho he needs them less and less so they assist other kids in the classroom too now.
did i mention..IT'S A CANON?
OMG..i said fracture! mom's never healed right because idiot at our local emerg didn't know what they were doing and set it wrong.
no ;( i have to wait for the store to call. they are waiting for another store(s) shipment to come in, then hopefully will snag one for me and purolate it to their store. 39.99 after purolator, how they gonna make any $$$? wish they'd call. everyone says have faith, but i'm such a pessimist. nothing ever seems to go right for me. anything i've missed out on tho, something better came along, but i can't see it at the time, ya know? i mean, how can i beat this deal?

Thanks for the link. I haven't crocheted since I was a kid. I'll have to give this a try. Would love to make a pointsettia for the dog's collar (maybe the cat's as well).
As for stems, all I can think of is using a couple of pipe cleaners wrapped with that green paper tape (can't remember what it's called).
Would love to see your project when it's done. Please post pics.

I made the cutest shortbread ice cream cones last month. I have a cute cookie cutter shaped like a scoop of ice cream in a cone, and painted the ice cream part with chocolate (melted a choc bar with a tbsp of butter) & let it set. My friends just about died of shock that I brought people cookies (usually I only bake for dogs).

WIKI IS UPDATED Y'ALL.
NS... I hope you get that printer! The store doesn't care if they have to courier it, even if they make no dollars on it, it gives them great word of mouth to do something nice like that for someone. And that is a GREAT deal. Sorry DS and DH giving you so much trouble, I don't even have a great suggestion except we could go on vacation. Mexico? Tahiti? Somewhere with great margaritas and hot guys.
Rose, I LOVE THAT NECKLACE. You have to get it, it is beautiful! I have never seen anything quite like it before.
Yay!!! I'm so freaking glad someone is listening to you, and doing the right thing. What kind of tests are they giving you? The stuff I mentioned?
Oh Andit, I think we are kindred spirits. I have an Isis just like that, and a matching bracelet, and I wear them every day. Mine are silver though.
Oh and, I adore Oscar Wilde. I even had a giant poster of him on the wall in my first apartment, by which every visitor to my apartment proclaimed me a nerd.
Yes Rose. Yes. How can you eat cookies and stay skinny. Shortbread cookies???? Just thinking of them is making my butt fatter.
