That little brat. I hope your puppy is okay.
There are new prizes at P&P. I just ordered Liam Neeson's Taken dvd. I hope it's good or I just wasted a bunch of points.
I doubt I'll add anyone on Facebook just so they can be in my Pirate crew. You don't have to add people on Dogworld to be able to add them as team members. Is there a way to get more energy faster. It takes me forever to plunder.

When I was laid off (this is going back 10 years, though), I couldn't apply for EI until the severance ran out. Basically, I got 3 months' salary, so had to wait 3 months to apply.
In your FIL's case, if he made roughly $1K per week, he'd have to wait 30 weeks to apply. Not sure about the $15K in RRSP, it depends on when & how it was given. I *think* it could be considered exempt if the company put it into the RRSP (kinda like a pension plan payment). Best to check with the EI office.
Hope that helps. So sorry to hear you're stuck in the middle of the nonsense. Hopefully things get better.

It doesn't matter if he chose to rollover some of his severance pay to an RRSP. It is determine by his gross severance pay. Because his pay out was less than his annual income, he can be eligible for EI ( probably for a few months), but he has to wait until all that money is used up based on their calculations. Also, he can only claim EI with that employer within a year of receiving it.
Gee, I hope I'm making sense... Clear as mud !! Did I confuse you more?

Thanks for the words everyone.
What an ugly couple of days it's been. But, we needed the rain, so I guess it's good. It's just a struggle to keep Tyler occupied. Good thing daddy is coming home today so he can play with him today

Morning everyone. Thank you for letting me vent out my frustration...sometimes inlaws get the best of me. My husband actually initiated a conversation about them with me last night saying have some patience with them but he is not going to help them if he feels they are doing nothing to better them financially. He said he might just take a utility bill from them and offer to pay it instead of handing them over cash every month that way we know a bill is being paid and they are not wasting the money we give them on other things. *sigh* I can see where he is coming from because it is his parents, but they also do this to themselves...what can we do? I guess nothing but deal with it
