I tried to pick diff name sfor my kids as well. My dd is Calista Vanese and son is Damian Cole.
No one I know has those names, though alot of people tried to talk us out of damian(I heard it on the exorcist and loved it) but most people associate evil here with that name.
I like the name Micah for a boy but thats from a book..lol..for a girl I had almost names dd Sydney, but al of a sudden a bunch named theirs that.

Hmmm... my computer won't let me into my PMs or visitor messages again without crashing. I know it is an issue with this poor broken computer and not with SC, I guess I have to wait till tomorrow and use hubby's computer.
I got hubby to agree to do it for any day that I am in the hospital. He has done it twice this week already, and I told him exactly how I like it done... LOL That also assures that he'll get my words entered too.
Feeling ok, I think I might get DH to take me to the birthing centre tonight because I am having a lot of contractions again. I don't think I'm in labor, but better safe than sorry!
I agree with Amy about Dexter... Carter is a very nice name though!
From your list of girls names I like Kaylie, that is very feminine. We had a lot of trouble picking a girls name this time, since our girl's names are very different, and we wanted something different for this baby too. Our girls are named Winter and Monet. I think we have finally settled on using our choice for a boy's name for this girl, since we *probably* are done after this. So this baby's name will most likely be Rune.
Honestly, if there is something that your wife doesn't like that you really love, maybe you can change a letter here or there to make it more agreeable to her? I dunno... Good thing you are doing a lot of talking about it now though, better than waiting till the last moment

Ok so this whole baby name thing has brought up a new topic for us all...anyone know the meanings behind their name or why their parents chose it? I'll go first:
So I was born in the late 70's when Jimmy Carter was president (and yes I am Cdn but Trudeau had no kids at the time to name me from) so I was named Amy after Carter's daughter. Also my parents had migrated to Canada in the 60's and my siblings born in Jordan all had very cultured names so they wanted to give me a Western name, so there it was. My middle name is Tina I know seems boring but in my dialect of Russian that means our beautiful eyes and apparently I was born with the cutest little eyes they threw that in. They didn't even know you could give second names til the woman who came in to help them fill out my forms asked if 'that's it, just Amy so short? You don't want another name?' and I got that name Amy Tina
Now onto my kids. Their names although very unique in their spelling and pronunciation are biblical names and very old fashioned. I am told simply by the names I have aged my boys but I like that, I like a mans name so they can grow into it. My eldest is Yacoub which is Jacob again a common name but not really all that popular and then my second son is IsHaq which is Isaac...again my dad thinks I set me boys up to be lawyers are something but I really love the name Isaac, such a powerful name to me. If I have another boy it will be Ibrahim which is Abraham or Abe for short and a girl will be Mariam which is after the name Mary or Maria for the Virgin Mary and her middle name will be Noor which means light of your life in Arabic. Always loved it, such a gorgeous meaning...
So with that said no one take my names

Well, cute serial killer aside, Dexter means right handed, so not that bad a name.
Lily is my dog, but I had wanted to name her Hecate, but my parents vetoed it.
Quincy the cat was supposed to have been Daniella (when I thought he was a she), but he didn't like the name.
My friend named her daughter Melody, I always liked that name. I also like Lyric as a name, though I don't know how well that would go over.
