Thanks so much...Shaun just checked and it appears as of right now that we'll get lots of rain and wind...about 50m/h winds which we are very accustomed to...Some states have already declared a state of emergency though, North & South Carolina...so, it's going to be a nasty one but I don't think it will be anything like Gustaf...this is just a tropical storm
Thanks for thinking of us though! We are suppose to leave at 8am on a day bus trip to go to the Casino and we don't know yet if we'll be able to go, not sure if they will cancel the trip or not...Gosh, I hope not, we'll be SO disappointed
Adding:
Shaun said that the center of the storm has shifted again and is heading towards Yarmouth, Nova Scotia which is basically where we live. We are 25 minutes from there, right on the shore on St. Mary's Bay. Lastnight it had moved more towards New Brunswick but it shifted again. Needless to say, it could still shift again many times.
NS Angel...no, I'm joining YOU! We're leaving for Halifax at 8am Sunday morning for a day trip at the Casino!!! It hasn't been cancelled YET! I have my doubts we'll be going anywhere though! As for the tequila...hmmmmmmm YOU can have the worm I can just see it now...and almost feel it too:
1 Tequila, 2 Tequila, 3 Tequila FLOOR...gonna join me there too??? lol
Stay safe everyone! Will be thinking of you all! My husband is on the net following this storm every 1/2 hour, I swear he should have been a weatherman!!!
(sorry to hear about your flat pancakes!!!!)Last edited by PetiteFemme; Fri, Sep 5th, 2008 at 08:23 AM. Reason: To add more storm info!

Tina, I am so not lucky when it comes to winning things. I have been in charge of the 649 pool at work for 3 yrs and all we win is free tickets or $10. I am surprised they evan let me get the tickets still.
But YES if I ever win big I'll have a party and you all can come!!

It's a day trip that has been planned for like 6 weeks now and the date set was Sept 7th! The Halifax casino sends a bus down here and picks up the people! We each pay $40 and that includes our trip there, a buffet and $5 of chips and other coupons. I'm thinking the casino will cancel the trip though but as of yet, they haven't.
My husband even took the day off for it and all We were SO looking forward to going Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I'm pretty lucky at winning things, just not MONEY! Then again, a few weeks ago I won about $800 and a few weeks before that I had won about $600 so I guess I can win money at times!
I already won the jackpot though, I won my husband on Pogo That's how we met, playing solitaire on Pogo
I won a handmade quilt at a parish picnic a month or so ago, it was the grand prize! It's pretty A Queen sized quilt too!

Here comes Hanna
Tropical storm’s projected path tracks through Maritimes
By DAVID JACKSON Staff Reporter
Fri. Sep 5 - 6:09 AM
This image taken at 12:01 a.m. EDT Friday shows tropical storm Hanna chugging just east of the Bahamas headed toward the Atlantic coast, where it could bring high winds and rain. It's not clear if Nova Scotia will get hit badly, but we can expect some rain and wind. (THE ASSOCIATED PRESS)
It’s too early to say just how much punch tropical storm Hanna is packing for Nova Scotia, but it looks like there will be rain and maybe some wind, according to the latest prediction from the Canadian Hurricane Centre in Dartmouth.
Forecaster Chris Fogarty said Thursday afternoon that the storm’s remnants will arrive Sunday, but estimates on the amounts of wind and rain won’t come until today.

"It may be looking more like a rain event, but (there’s) the wind possibility with it as well. Too early to tell how much wind there might be," Mr. Fogarty said in a telephone interview.
He said he wouldn’t be surprised if the storm regains hurricane strength as it approaches North and South Carolina, but it would weaken significantly as it moves up the eastern seaboard. Mr. Fogarty said it appears what will be left of Hanna will merge with a frontal area moving east across the Great Lakes.
"That’s what could lead to some heavier rains," he said.
The hurricane centre’s 9 p.m. update said Hanna was about 170 kilometres northeast of Nassau, Bahamas, and was moving northwest at 29 kilometres per hour.
Its maximum sustained winds were estimated at 102 km/h.
The statement said long-period waves and surf from Hanna and Ike, another storm farther out in the Atlantic Ocean, should begin to affect the Maritimes on Saturday.
It also said there could be gale-force winds on Maritime waters on Sunday.
Nova Scotia’s emergency management office is keeping a close eye on Hanna, said Carolyn Bolivar-Getson, the minister responsible for the office.
"There’s many different predictions as to what at this point could happen and at this point we just need to be prepared," she said after cabinet Thursday.
"The message to Nova Scotians is they should have their 72-hour emergency preparedness kits ready to roll at any point. We all know that September is hurricane season in Nova Scotia."
Emergency management’s website says those kits should include items such as water, non-perishable foods, a flashlight, radio, spare batteries and a first-aid kit.
Office spokesman David Rodenhiser also advised Nova Scotians to also listen and watch for Hanna updates, and take appropriate precautions, such as getting the emergency kit ready and taking in lawn furniture.
Nova Scotia Power spokeswoman Margaret Murphy said utility officials are also monitoring the storm and will have workers on standby, as is usual in storm season.
"We’ve reached out across our company to make sure crews are ready for this weekend," Ms. Murphy said.

Yeah, we'd be busing it but still, with winds, it would make it worse
Just posted the front page news of the Chronicle Herald so you could read it...
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Digby scallops! They sure are yummy! The lobster lastnight was really yummy too
For our american friends...scallops are "shellfish" like a clam, mussel but totally different! They are yummy in the tummy and taste great raw too!
