Oh no, Lua! Poor Piper (& poor you!).

Try giving Piper some flavoured water (the "juice" from a can of tuna watered down). Also try giving him some mackerel or herring - the cheap stuff in a can is usually $1.50 or less, just to get liquid into his system.

Here's hoping Piper gets back to normal soon.

I also second that you take him in as quickly as possible as we've had a similar experience as you & Lites have (with our beloved doggy however, it's more common than I though), although if it's something as serious as kidney failure you should be warned there isn't much you can do but et them comfortable. Sending positive thoughts, and I wish you and piper the best!

You must take your cat to the vet asap if he is vomiting. Our vet said that if they are sluggish, that is something to watch. If they vomit, they must go to the vet - there's something wrong. I don't want you to panic but we went through something similar in the last two months with our boy cat. His colon wasn't working properly and he got impacted - twice. Lots of tears, a couple nights without him and $1500 and he's okay now. We had to put him on a special food after a month of meds (a syringe of liquid meds 3 times a day and then a pill another 3 times a day - exhausting for both). But the one thing that sticks in my head after all that is that on a scale of 1-10 - vomiting is at the top of things to be worried about. The fact that there's bile is even more concerning. Please take your kitty to the vet as soon as you can! I wish you luck!! Let us know how things go.

came home from work... food wasn't touched... no pees or poops.. can't tell if he drank because he plays with his water bowl (hence why he has the fountain) and spilled most of it. got a new flav. of the wellness food (the brand he's been on) and he took 2 bites and walked away. you can tell he wants to eat but just can't another spot of vomit - bile again.

called the vet --- he has an appt for 8:30am. i'm really scared and can't stop bawling. I cried pretty much the whole time on the phone to the girl at the vet (so embarrassed!)

he seems somewhat perky otherwise which is so weird! last time he had the bladder issues he was so distant and subdued.... he does however keep begging to go to the basement (where his hiding spots are) but i'm keeping him up on the main floor so i can monitor him closely.

Poor Piper! I know exactly how you are feeling - completely helpless. I was a cryer on the phone to the vet too. I'll be thinking of you both. Please let us know how he does tomorrow. (if it ends up being a colon problem - you mentioned he hadn't used the litter box, please mention the new MediCal gastro intestinal food in the gold bag that came out this October to the vet - it's worked wonders and our boy doesn't need his meds or surgery because of it)
