Hello!
I rarely visit this thread because we're both watching our figures, so I never bake except
for our grandson: he loves my pumpkin raisin muffins.
However, being this close to Easter, I tried a new recipe:
Refrigerator Dinner Rolls...I prepared them, put the resulting blob into a greased bowl, placed
plastic wrap on it, and it's supposed to keep for up to a week, ready when you want to bake them!!
So, I thought...this is easier than doing it all from scratch Easter day!
Has anyone else made them? Did they....turn out nicely?

Lynn, I've only ever done overnight buns - and that was years ago. If I've gone to all the trouble of making dough, I want more instant results of baking them asap!
Just finished baking first batch of Babkas, second batch in the oven. Smells heavenly - and the little sample I had tastes great!

Natalka, they were a dismal failure and we tossed 'em out. I'm not totally inexperienced in bread-making but those were icky, and no taste whatsoever. They didn't rise, either, in spite of the yeast proofing nicely.
I have Paska dough in my breadmaker right now and almost ready to take out, proof once more and bake....omg, I made it last year also, and it's SO unbelievable yummy!!! So much for my diet this weekend! Big family dinner tomorrow, and there will be wine.

Just put second batch of Paska in the oven.
A bit disappointed with my first batch - on one of the bigger rounds, the cross with curved ends decoration came up on one side - gah, and I worked so hard on it! It takes so long to make the braids, etc. However, tasted a bit of the smaller paska and it's awesome!

They're beautiful, Natalka!!
Mine is baked and looking quite nice...but the best part is how the kitchen smells!!!!
I hope it tastes as good as the one I made last year. I only make 1 for Easter, otherwise
this diet will be MORE than blown!!

One thing, though....my breadmaker, which I use only to make up the dough, didn't have any heat this time...the dough didn't rise as much as it had in previous years; I hope the bread isn't one big hole with crust around it!
Don't tell me I need another breadmaiker!!!

I know, about the aroma, Lynn - bread baking for two days, here - and I'll probably do another batch of Babka tomorrow.
Just got the second batch of Paskas out of the oven - I made one round loaf, and six giant buns.
Husband-tasted and approved!
I'll take pics later.

Thanks, Lynn - but I have made them beautifuler, lol! I just don't know why the decorations didn't stay down. However, they taste great!
I had some dough left, so made six buns in muffin tins and put poppyseed on top - yum!
I didn't make more paskas because my husband is on the Cathedral council so got one from the church babas, so he bought one as well. Those are in the freezer, though.

Kris, your own buffalo, or from a nearby ranch? I've had bison burgers, but never had dairy from one.
Not so much baking this morning, but making... no bake oatmeal/coconut cookies and puffed wheat cake.
Oh, wait - a story I just remembered, speaking of baking/not baking.
My mom grew up on a farm with a lot of sibs, and knew how to cook and bake. So, no problem when she and dad got married.
However, making a puffed wheat cake was new to her, so she followed a recipe, mixed it up, put it in a pan and baked it - she said the recipe didn't say at what temp and for how long, but she did it til she thought it was done. Well, lol, it was hard as a rock!
