i made a coffee cake this morning, using some of the frozen sour cream from a while ago. Cake is all gone now since the grandkids were here for lunch. I gave them some to bring home also.

Tried making savory turnovers with honey maple ham and double cream brie in puff pastry. They turned out nicely, so I'll definitely make them again as well as try other fillings.

Baked Tofu slices - haven't made this in ages. It was yummy and I made enough for leftovers later this week and enough to freeze for 2-3 meals when I don't have the time or energy to cook.
The next to last thing I baked was my banana oat cakes (in the microwave). Made a big batch so some are in the freezer.Have a great life!

This morning i made a Rhubarb and Apple compote. The recipe i listed below is in both french and english. It is a refreshing twist on just applesauce. Hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
COMPOTE DE RHUBARBE & POMME
3 branches de rhubarbes pelées et effilochées (3 stalks of rhubarb peeled and chopped)
4 pommes Mcintosh pelées et en cubes (4 McIntosh apples peeled and cubed)
1/4 tasse de sucre (1/4 cup sugar)
1 tasse d'eau (1cup water)
Mettre tous les ingrédients dans un chaudron et porter à ébullition. Baisser le feu et laissermijoter à découvert pendant 20 minutes en brassant de temps à autre.
(Put all the ingredients into a pot and bring to a boil. Lower the heat and let simmer uncovered for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally)Last edited by SnowFlakey; Fri, Sep 4th, 2020 at 11:08 AM.
