Great idea...also, is she registered anywhere? If there's nothing at the price there, at least you'll get a good sense of her taste and colour-scheme in their home....you can often pick up a sweet silver frame at HomeSense for that price, so that they can put their wedding photo in it...check the sale aisle...also, if you want to pick up an inexpensive kitchen item such as an omelet pan, or waffle maker (check for sales), and add a recipe box (Michaels, in the sale aisle...really cute ones for pennies!), and write out several recipes you found on the internet for that appliance! If it's a baking pan with a lid, compile recipes for casseroles, bar cookies, etc!

CorningWare french white sets 18.88, 18.77

Also, check our Pier 1 - they have amazing things there for decent prices - check the site for ideas, but depends what's at your local store.

I like Natalka's idea of getting some baking dishes. You could always get 1 or 2 silicone baking mats (they regularly go on sale for $4 at Canadian tire, although the regular retail is around $12), and then bake a batch of cookies to go with them. If you find a decent sale, you'll be out $10, including ingredients for the cookies

I absolutely love my silicone baking mats - they are reusable, heat resistant, and work better than parchment paper (imho) for minimizing cleanup while also being environmentally friendly!

When I was a bridesmaid for my friend's wedding, the 4 gals in her wedding party got together, put in about $10 each, & got her a bunch of things for the bride's new home (every day glasses, cups, plates, cutlery, baking sheets, a mop, a bucket filled with cleaning supplies, even a pair of white plastic chairs for outside - we ended up using them!) & she was thrilled, cause it was all useful stuff that wouldn't sit collecting dust.

Do you know what sort of things the bride might need?

I guess any new bride would need dishes, cups, pans etc. But it is the small things I think you need as well, like tea towels, (which you can get at any discount store), salt and pepper shakers, can opener, potatoe peeler, napkin holder, sugar blow, pasta drainer, cutting board etc these are small things you don't realize you need until you need them. Maybe make her a small basket of small little things she will need down the road for every day use. (And once again can get them at any discount store)

Love the idea of the household things but these 2 have been together for 8-10 years and living together for at least half of that, so I doubt they need much household items.

I was starting to think about maybe making it a gift that would be geared more towards her and some sort of pampering things she could use before the big day.

Like maybe get a cute white purse and have things she might need, like beath mints, tissues, advil, perfum, lip gloss, tums, little sewing kit etc my maid of honour did that and it saved me
