Coming and going, Toots, between laundry, sitting outside with Jenny, getting ready for another weekend of camping....checking in now and then. Oh. And surfing the interwebs...

Hi Dave.

Well that was an interesting stroll down memory lane. I guess I'd say I'm 50% pleased with the results.
About 1/3 of each film didn't come out at all, and they pre-dated sound. The quality wasn't great either, maybe just the age of the films, I don't know.
But, on the plus, it was nice to see my grandparents & parents when they were still 'relatively' young, and my husband (all have been gone for years now, which made me cry), and my kids when they were really young.
I think I may do up a table of contents, wrap them, & give them to my son for Christmas.
He's never seen them, and it would be nice to see how happy they make him.
This looks to be about a year after the films were shot.

hicks, it's so wonderful that you got those done!
Lynn, enjoy your prep! Sounds like you've joined a great community there.
Well, our son has been off on holiday this past week, and has decided to head to Alberta this morning - on his own! My Mommyness sure kicked in yesterday when he was over for supper and a visit.
He wants to see the mountains, so is headed to Canmore, Calgary and maybe Banff. He will be camping - which he's only done once before, and that was with experienced campers. He hated it, but knows that's what he can afford other than sleeping in his car... so, yeesh... just fingers crossed that all goes well.
Added - drat, just checked the forecast for where he'll be, and today will be rainy. Nicer weather tomorrow and for the weekend. Bummer that he'll have this bad day.Last edited by Natalka; Thu, Aug 6th, 2015 at 09:24 AM.

Hello, my Friend! Thank you for asking...
Meh...I'm still trying to walk upright, but it's still difficult since I didn't recover most of the feeling in my foot and what's there feels like I'm walking on gravel and lately it feels as if it's fractured....it's not, but the feeling makes walking a proctological nuisance. And once in a while my knee still collapses, so I continue my strengthening exercises. Now aren't you sorry you asked?
Our DD snapped back into shape in the 8 weeks she had to recover and is back in her stilettos, lol. She just told us she's #7 in the country out of over 800 wealth managers, and is finding her schedule much more relaxed now that she's "retired" from taking on new clients.....I guess those shoes are working their magic, lol...
Now how about you, Dan? I hope your new job continues to bring you more satisfaction than your last one....do you work with a lot of people around you? Is it a good crew to be around? Do you all get together socially now and then? I don't think I have to ask you about your new marriage....I have a feeling the honeymoon continues.....bless your hearts.
{{{{Big hugs}}}} to you Sweetheart!

Good morning, everyone!!
Jeepers, where has summer gone? The temps here have dropped to the low 20s from the lovely heat of July...I'm not ready for it to be over!! It's also a sunny/cloudy day which doesn't help....Does anyone still have summer?
We're off to camp tomorrow, so not much in the way if wi-fi unless I'm at the rec-hall or at our DD's trailer, but we have Shaw coming tomorrow afternoon to connect us to satellite, so, whew, I'll have my news fix and our sports channels among a whole whack of others...yay! Other than that, just relaxing, walking Jenny to the docks and sitting on a bench just beyond them on a little spit, watching the waves roll in....Hubby and our grandson fish off the dock....the kids and him go sea-doing...then the campfires at night....it's lovely. I read and will get a start on my charity knitting.....
I sure hope you all have a lovely, sunny, stress-free day...stay safe and enjoy what's left of the summer!

Thanks,Nat...and boy, every Mom can relate to your Mommyness! Our kids may be grown-up adults, but that would never stop us from worrying about them whenever they're not wrapped on a fleece blankie at home. Their travelling can bring us to catatonic fear! Or, is that just me? I doubt it, lol....once a Mom, always a Mom and our kids will always be our babies....
What an adventure he'll be on....I wish him lots of fun!

Good morning every1. Every1 seems to be in a bright cheery mood.
Nat - try not to worry too much about your son. I'm sure he'll be fine. You brought him up right.
Lynn, I'm so jealous (in a good way). That sounds so fantastic. I just wish your knee would recoup more quickly. I'm sure Jenny loves it just as much as you do.
I agree about the temps. It feels like fall (I know, bite your tongue), but it does. Two good weeks of hot temps are just not enough to get through what lies ahead. I sure wish we were heading into July, not August.
Well, have a great day folks, mine looks to be a busy one.

You? Busy, Hicks? Lol....what's new?
Enjoy your "fall" day, Hon.
Well, my very first 4 bars of melt and pour soap is hardening up in their little molds....I used a "rainfall" fragrance oil ( my essential oils are more medicinal than pretty...
)...and the tiniest bit of blue just to tint them, and I put a new red flag quarter on the top of one bar for our grandson on top of a bit of clear soap, big spender, lol!
I can't wait to unmold them!! Eek!

LOL, he's already made his first check-in, a few hours away from here - nice that he got an early start, but he's been driving through a big rain.
I didn't tell him to check in, but I think since he's alone and he knows I'm home, he can do it any time. He also set us up with video chat last night, so he wants to do that.
Gosh, technology is wonderful!

Nope, not sorry I asked at all!
I'm glad you're at least able to walk, even if the recovery is not going as fast as you'd like it to. As long as it's not got getting any worse, that's a good thing!
That was a pretty snappy recovery for your DD. You must be so overly proud of her and all the hard work she puts forward! (I know you are, you gush so much on here about her!)
As for myself and the Lady, the honeymoon does continue
.
In all honesty, I guess you could say we moved passed the "honeymoon" phase of our relationship after our 2nd year together as a couple. Don't know if I've ever mentioned that we've been together almost 10 years now. We are still very much loving up the excitement of the wedding though!
We've been discussing our 5 year plan a lot lately, and really starting to get our ducks in a row.
As for my work, couldn't have made any better of a decision. Moving to this office was the best career move I've made. I work with such a large variety of people and different sectors of our client base, it's amazing! Crew around me is absolutely amazing, they have so much experience and expert advice on any and every matter.
The office is great at getting everyone together for social events too. We have at least 2-3 groups doing social sports league/teams at any point in time, we do weekly group lunches, and the office throws a office party quarterly. Just this past month, we had the summer staff party. To put the parties in perspective, our office winter party from last December had a bar total bar tab in the neighborhood of $25K, this summer, roughly $30K...this is an office of approximately 130 staff
FUN TIMES!
Any who, back to the actual work environment and office operations. I'm able to direct and implement procedures within the office and direct my career progress in the direction that is both beneficial for the company and myself. The partners are more than happy to accommodate.
...so there's a short summary for you...
my turn to ask...Now aren't you sorry you asked?
