Apparently I'm not a good candidate - I took 1/2 once, and was mortified/frozen when I could feel my limbs/body paralyzed, yet my mind was still fully awake. It was extremely scary.

So glad that we are into a warming trend - might get to zero tomorrow.
Oddest Feb. ever!

I had messaged our son yesterday, asking if he wanted to come for supper Val. Day, or if he had other plans.
But, oh my heart, he answered back "No plans. I'm lonely." - well that took me a minute, then I realized he was joshing me and meant he was single... that kid knows how to get to me!

Going to make a cheesecake today, to have tomorrow - my mom's very old recipe, easy to make, and so yummy!

the 9:30 news says it's now -27 with a wind chill of -40. I'm not impressed.

Good day, everyone!!!

Deep freeze here, too...-30 overnight, the house was creaking so badly last evening I thought it would come down around us!! -1 on Thurdsay, though, thank goodness...and it better stay that way from then on!! What horrible weather for everyone on their Valentine's Day date-night today!!

We have our Grandson overnight, although we won't see much of him this evening: he's at his TiKwanDo school from 7-10 for a pizza and movie party...probably the Kung Fu Panda movies! He'll have a blast.

Natalka, don't kids just know how to pull on our heartstrings?!? Little brats! Enjoy it now, before a girlfrieind becomes the light in his life...otoh, perhaps you'll have two for dinner next year!!

Stay warm, everyone, don't venture out unless you have to...like a hot date or something..

It's very weird how the frigid weather shifted to you guys out East.
We did get a skiff of snow today, which is good - but more would have been better, since overall we have a pitiful amount.

Had to spend time in bed late morning because the world was spinning, thanks to Meniere's. Just had a sandwich, pear and some tea and I feel more stable.

Darth!! Happy Anniversary to you two!!! Was it a Valentine's Day wedding???

No, we married on the 12th of Feb as it was the first date we could get (3 weeks for the banns) that was on a Saturday so family and friends could join us.

It was a civil ceremony and very much a "Hey, we really should get married" having been together 14 yrs and having a nearly 2 yo Penguinette.

Very very cold here, was watching the hockey game, (well really snoozing) When all of sudden the power went out. So the stoves went out. Well went up to sun room with the pups (who weren't sure what was happening). Had a smoke, still not on.. So off to bed, was about 9.. Got up a hour ago, House is 10 degrees. Turn on my pellet stoves, and we are thawing out here now.. Suppose to have another two cold days, and then we shoot up to -5 which will feel like a spring day..

Good morning everyone. And Happy Valentines.

It's -27 here, another stay-at-home day for sure.
Yesterday was a great day for doing 'someday' tasks.
My big one was emptying out the walk-in pantry, and
clearing out old, forgotten stuff. Made a big pile of expired
crackers, biscuits, granola bars, nuts, etc. That will be
more food for crumbling and putting out for my menagerie
of critters: squirrels, bunnies, Blue jays, chickadees.
I've also been putting out apple slices for the bunnies
every night. It's a pleasure watching them.
