I'm awful, I NEVER send thank you cards
I didn't grow up in a family that ever sent them so maybe that's why. I always thank people for gifts and my children do the same. We don't really have a big extended family and it's usually just family and close friends at b-day parties so we thank everyone in person.
Birthday parties- there is no way I could ever accommodate a whole class full of kids. The boys are allowed to invite a few close friends each and I take them somewhere fun. I remember reading somewhere that a good rule of thumb for parties is 1 child for each year of age... so if they're turning 5, they can invite 5 kids, etc.
I can totally understand why school's would put a policy like that in place but my kids would have to go without if that was the case.

And if you're a Jimmy Fallon fan, check out the lip synch competition between him and John Krisinski (no idea how to spell it - the guy from the office).
I almost died laughing. I want a lip synch contest at every party now. lol

My hubby has tomorrow off and is driving me crazy LOL already. He doesn't know what to do when he has time off. Yardwork & golfing is out because of the weather.

Buy him a Kobo or some such and tell him to read something...lol...that's what my hubby does...or plays Sudoko...He did venture out for a couple of holes of golf this afternoon, but it was still just too miserable. The rain has stopped, but our DD and her DH and friends went out this morning and played 9 holes...she's thawing out near their fireplace...totally chilled to the bone!
We finally found a place in Florida for next March. Just watch: it'll be as wonderful as it was last March, and not at all as miserable here as it was this March! We'll be back in Kissimmee, so I just know we'll be making at least one trek to DisneyWorld...I can't stay away when I'm down there!! It looks like a lovely home......
Hope everyone is finding something exciting to do indoors today....is anyone having a sun-shiny day today?

Lola....I've done a lot of fundraising in my days, and the one thing that I've always wanted to organize is a Lip-Synch Contest, city-wide! I'd have divided it up into decades...the 50s, 60s, etc, and had a winner in each category...full costumes, dancing, everything!! Maybe an air-guitar mini-contest, too...lol...It might still happen with this new group I'm with, but I don't sense much enthusiasm from most of them and although I hate delegating, I'm getting too old to do it all myself now...lol..Control-freak? Yep.

Morning Ladies

Hope everyone had an enjoyable long weekend.
Sheets, as long as you have enough time for mouth wash, and to make sure there aren't any chunks on your clothes, you'll be alright!
but seriously, good luck love

Morning gang. Hope everyone's long weekend was good. Mine was. Way too much sun and beer...lol.
This one's for our dear friend walker...
Canada Post has created a new stamp with a picture of
Prime Minister Stephen Harper on it.
The stamp is not sticking to envelopes. This has enraged the
Prime Minister, who demanded a full investigation.
After a month of testing and spending $4.1 million,
a special commission has presented the following findings:
1. The stamp is in perfect order.
2. There is nothing wrong with the adhesive.
3. The Public is spitting on the wrong side of the stamp.I can't profess to understand God's plan. Christ promised the resurrection of the dead. I just thought he had something a little different in mind.
