    Hicks, - beautiful thoughts!
Lynn - wish I could just sip that drink! Love the little house on the cup.
I cancelled my respite time today. Just need to be near DH and he's very nervous of having yet a NEW person stay with him.
Waiting for some friends from Kitchener-Waterloo who are dropping by. We were to go out for lunch but we'll eat here.
Another friend dropped by last night on her way through town to drop off some goodies and mini-meals that are frozen.
    All very much appreciated.
Trying to get financial information from the states re: DH's investments - difficult at the best of times, but it seems his formeremployer company has dissolved, so have to catch up with a ghost company.

Will chat later - stay warm!

Enjoyed an afternoon with a good friend from Kitchener. She brought goodies and meals prepared by herself and another friend. DH joined us and we chatted together for quite a while. Evening is setting in. Preparing for a cozy evening of TV and finishing Christmas Cards. Stay warm, everyone who has to go out-of-doors.

I don't have much money for christmas. So far I bought a horse calendar for $1.25 for my 14 year old cousin lol. I am working on making some art for her and getting a book for my 12 year old cousin. Their parents told me not to get them anything but I have to ok.

    Good morning!!

The snow stopped falling and the sun showed up so I'm thinking it's a good day to run a few little errands I need to get to before next week when it's probably a good idea for me to stay away from the madness I usually love to join in on at Christmas. It's much more difficult now from a wheelchair or with a walker for short distances with the crowds out there next week. DH is all for taking me out, so I think that's exactly what I'm going to do!
@cabmonk , so sweet of you to think of others even with your limited income as you say...it really is the thought that counts and I'm sure whatever you choose will be appreciated. Even so-called dollar stores are jam-packed with goodies for all ages and I've been surprised at some of the name-brand offerings I've found there! Good luck with your hunt!
@avoncallingu , I hope you had a lovely evening with your DH last night watching (I hope!) Christmas movies..hmmmm??? Even I watched one I pvr'd last night that I never saw before (much to DH's surprise since I'm addicted to Christmas movies!)..."the 12 Christmas eves" or some such title...of course I've watched Alistar Sims' Scrooge twice already; it really is the best one. I'll watch it again next week.

Everyone...have a lovely day, be careful driving if you're down south; the weather channel had some nasty news for you wrt road conditions. Be safe!! Have a lovely day!!!

    Good morning all.

I was a basket case last night. Without ANY sleep the night before, I couldn't keep my eyes open after dinner. I even fell asleep while dinner was cooking; thank goodness the oven beeps continually when the timer goes off. I was in bed by 8:30, and slept till 9:10 this morning.

It's a sunny, but cold day. I hope you have a good one, & stay warm.

@Lynn49 , I am going to get some art and craft stuff from dollarama and a blank stretched canvas from there or walmart. I want to do like a jackson pollock kind of paining for my cousin and try to incorporate other things into it.

Did you ever see the "melted crayon" art that some people have made? I've been tempted, just to see what happens..I have a heat gun for it and crayons and 2 stretched canvases....and my acrylic and watercolour paints, but until I can safely get up and down the stairs to my little craft corner of the rec-room, I'm afraid I'll be out of commission for a while.
    Good luck with your Pollock!

Reminds me of a quick story: DH and I love visiting art galleries wherever we travel, and I'm not sure where this happened, but we were admiring some abstract paintings when a tour group came by us and stood at the painting next to us...naturally some guy said to the tour-guide, "My kid could do that!" , to which the tour-guide replied:
"Sure! NOW!" Omgoodness we all lauged!!

hardest thing ever in my life was saying good bye to her... however we've learned.. you say 'see you later'...
we don't know what the future holds for him but I think mom would be happy to see him again in time for Christmas. after 62 years together and 3 weeks exactly it would be fitting.
me.. well life just is... day to day.
still trying to find work.. not going well... not sure y. just not given a chance.. it sucks.
both kids (21,22) are working full time. although my oldest has been off with a minor surgery for a few weeks. by the time the new year gets here hopefully both will be back to work.
    fingers crossed on that.
and maybe just maybe we'll start to build our dream future.
that's my update. hope every one is doing well.. if I were to try and remember everyone.. I know id forget someone.. best not try... talk later folks.
So sorrry Mrs Sunshine... sorry hear sad news about your mom's passing.. I know how your feeling I lost my dad Nov 27,2013 and March 16, 2016 my brother was found dead in his apartment. Only 51 yrs old .. so we don't know when our father will call us home .. life is short so enjoy your self like its your last one .. sending my thoughts and prayers to you and your family

@Lynn49 hope you can get around better soon. Haven't really seen melted crayon art but sounds cool.
