Good job Natalka, I am glad someone responded to this. I thought about it but I did get 24 bars between my 3 daughters and I felt that was maybe too much.

I messaged SDM about this promo as it seems too good to be true that people are redeeming points for 100's of bars and getting back more points then they used. And they said its legit. I was kind of worried after the fiasco in May where they were taking points back when you got bonus points during a 20x event

Why half my comment was deleted??? i dont see what was so terrible saying the chocolat basket was better than putting them on a couch??? Heck, if it only takes this to have comments removed, i can point out some comments way way and way worse than mine.

Any comments I seen referring to the couch were removed due to complaints

Some people are posting on SDMs facebook page about the kijiji ads and people buying for resale. This will never ever freaking happen again.
I don't know what would possess somebody to report to a company via facebook that other people are selling them. GJ whoever you are, make SURE they never offer a promo like this again!

This has happened so many times before I have lost count, the neutrogena lip balms were on kijiji etc, when the P&G coupon was around, the shave cream was on kijiji
The fact is, there are a limited number of people who know how to 'work' the system, sure we look for it because we do know, but think back to before you joined SC or other like sites - would you have known?

Interesting discussion really. Buyer beware. Some re-sellers are legit, others aren't. Nothing new here. I mean legit as in bought a product then didn't need it so listed it for sale.
LF: Chapman's ice cream and Dare coupons.
DS has a peanut allergy so it's the ONLY ones we buy.
Lots FT.

I was in the Sylvan Lake Shoppers Drug Mart this morning and there was a sign in front of the Cadbury bars that and other Kraft products 8000 bonus points was a mistake.

Well there is the answer to all of you that felt you could justify taking huge amounts and making money on Shoppers drug mart. Once again you have ruined it for everyone else that is just interested in saving a bit of money and living a frugal lifestyle.
Who looses in this? The companies that offer great deals for one. The people that wanted to buy a few chocolate bars and make some points. All couponers because these great offers will be fewer and fewer.
Couponing in this area has become very dismal due to couponing in excess. Tear pads are gone within hours of being put up, shelves cleared regularly and cashiers that were once friendly are scrutinizing every coupon at the til. My favourite store is now not stocking coupons because they are trying to deter the lady who comes in regularly and takes the whole tear pad to sell on EBay
I don't believe in the above practices because it is wrong to benefit from them.It is scammy and unethical and yes I know there will be a lot of backlash from that comment but ethically it is wrong.I sympathise with the families that are fighting to make ends meet.I was there myself as a 20 year old with 2 babies, personally I worked full time at a low paying job and a part time job for 7 years until I got ahead.Believe me if you think that taking advantage of buying 300 candy bars will get your family on their feet financially will change your situation, you are dreaming. Your situation has to change and only you can do that.
As far as the ones that pat themselves on the back for donating items obtained by this promotion your time would be better spent giving the receiving agencies and hour of your time and a small donation once in while when a great sale comes around.Last edited by thriftygranny; Wed, Sep 12th, 2012 at 06:10 PM.
