I just returned from walmart to get some tylenol with the $3 printible coupon and cashier asked it me if it was printed on Glossy paper??? um I said ( as he was holding it ) No, its regular paper printed from the internet. Then he showed me a sign at the cash that says that all coupons must be on glossy paper?? My question is what is the difference and why would he ask me if it was printed on glossy when he is standing there holding it... if I would have said Yes , would he have accepted it??
Anyone else have this experience or is it just my Walmart??This thread is currently associated with: Walmart

LOL sounds like just your Walmart. If they ever tried something like that with me I think I would have to fight to hold in the laughter.
We're always saying what will they think of next but apparantly they are thinking of glossy paper next.

they had me stunned ... I was just trying to think how on earth this made sense. I had my two little ones with me so I am lucky not to be fighting with them ... I'll try another walmart.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA if my Wal-Mart wants to start enforcing the use of glossy coupons, they can pretty much kiss goodbye to any business from me!

I used a Save $5 when you buy 4 Smart Ones (on sale for $2) at Walmart today. It was printed half in colour and half in black in white because my printer decided to run out of ink while I was printing it. I handed it to the cashier and she rang it in no questions asked. I am definitely not using glossy paper. They are asking you to use photo paper which is EXPENSIVE. Probably more to print the darn coupon than it's worth. Hogwash.

i think they are just making up their own rules.. and nitpicking.. glossy paper really?? next they will say you can only use white super bright paper vrs regular paper.. heck i fight the urge to print on lined paper (really lined paper a pack of 150 sheets is like 20c at the beginning of the school year) i'd almost tempted to put a bit of lip gloss on it and say there.. now it's glossy

I wonder if your Walmart is trying to weed out photocopies, and maybe even printed from the internet coupons. The easiest way to do this would be to only take 'glossy' paper such as tear pads, save.ca, websaver, etc. A ream of 24 lb higher quality bond has almost a glossy feel to it. I would buy a ream of it and use it for coupons only.
So many coupons....so little time!

What about coupons in the newspaper? Those wouldn't be on glossy paper.

nothing has changed in walmart's guidelines that I know about you need to contact walmart.ca and complain or call the store manager, we take all coupons black and white, colour internet, or mailed from save.ca etc.,

I gave up on using printable coupons a while ago. Every time I tried it was a fight with the cashier over it not being a photocopy. I just dont care enough to want to deal with this due to other bs/stress in my life. Although I am sure the photocopy issue is why the glossy paper is wanted, though is expensive.
