I did the same with the strawberries! Bought 4 containers for $4!

So this week I am hoping to be more organized so that by the end of week what I need for lunch is in the fridge and I just have to grab the containers I need and go.

Today I chopped up 3 packages of Strawberries (who can say no to 1lb of strawberries for $1). I chopped some for lunch, a cookies sheet is in the freezer to be bagged once strawberries are frozen, after dinner I will dry some in the oven and tomorrow after work I will dip some in some Lemon Yogurt Fruit Dip and freeze them.

Question has anyone frozen grapes before???? Will they go mushy when they defrost????? I have packed some up for my lunch today but not sure what I will do with the rest if mom doesn't eat any.

I hate those weeks were you think you are going to be under budget in the groceries and you are way over.

This is what I stocked up on - so I should be good for many months
    5x 2.5kg of flour
    2x 1kg brown sugar
    2x Quacker Harvest Crunch Cereal
1x Fruit loops cereal (with pin)
3x Kelloggs frosted flakes (with pins)
6x Kelloggs corn pops (with pins)

here's my boring menu for the upcoming week

Monday - Chicken breast with rice
Tuesday - hamburgers with pasta salad
    wednesday - porc chops
    thursday (leftovers)
    Friday - fish with rice
Saturday - make take out at home
    Sunday???

Seriously? I think I would buy like 80 if I could get strawberries for $1. I'm so jealous.

Was in Walmart today (son wanted to check the price of a game he wants). Saw 12 1L Mason jars for $7but I resisted the urge to buy them. I spent my money this week. And so I was a good little girl and didn't buy them. I *may* have a mason jar obsession.

As previously mentioned we do not really mean plan but after going through the fridge we will be having the following this week as we need to use up some stuff in the fridge

Tonight is eggplant parm - To use up the clearance eggplant I bought yesterday
Tomorrow is Spinach Ricotta Rolls - To use up lasagna sheets
Tuesday is Roast Beef - - Was taken out for Sunday night dinner, but when with eggplant parm instead

The rest of the week we will figure out later. Knowing 3 days is pretty amazing for us.

We freeze them all the time. But yes, they are mushy inside after they thaw, but the skin holds them together. Honestly, we eat them frozen or thawed- they are ALOT sweeter after freezing too. Frozen, they were great when DS was teething.

Another grape freezer here. I love them in the summer as a snack or in drinks instead of ice. Yum!

    Good morning everyone,

I've been up since 4AM eeek, so 1st order of the day get the kids up at 7AM and fed, lunches packed and out the door, then off to the garage with dh's truck to see what is wrong since there is a light on his dash board (fingers crossed not serious/expensive).

    I'm up with you Jasper.
LO has been up for the last hour. He's playing on the floor next to me. He seems to be playing a little more quietly, so I'm going to try to lay him back down again soon.

I checked outside and it looks like the "snow storm" is over. Certainly got a few inches of snow in the evening, but there are still plenty of tire tracks down my busy street. I received a call last night asking if I could teach Grade 7 today because a teacher is storm stayed in Regina. LO has his 6month immunizations later today, so I was not available.

Morning all. Just up because the cats wanted out. No snow last night but it sure is cold out.

    Good Early Morning all,

DH and I are off to the doctor's today which means fighting traffic into the city.

Making sure we have snacks and lots of water so we're not tempted to buy stuff. Even making some sandwiches since we'll get stopping at the hospital to see MIL on the way home.

JasperChar, hope the truck isn't too big an expensive. I dread going to the mechanic sometimes.

Angela, hope the LO is ok with the shots today, not too much crying.

Neighbour's dog has been here 12 days and while she's a treat to have, she piddles in our living room as if it's a grass patch. Every time I got out I come home to a wet patch.

    Better hit the showers!

Have a great and frugal day all.
