I brown ground beef before putting it in. I was pretty sure you had too. Sometimes chicken. I'll brown lots of ground beef at a time, so when prepping for the slowcooker I just need to dump the already browned meat in.

Nancy, so sorry to hear about Jasper. We had to send our lab to doggy heaven last October and I still have my moments.

I did my grocery shopping on Friday and took advantage of the SDM bonus redemption. I went to a different store than usual to take advantage of the fact that they are a bigger store with more variety. I also went to Sobey's as EB Fruit was on sale for $3.99 and I had lots of $1.00 off coupons thanks to jasperandchar.

So far I am under budget for this month for groceries having spent $232.29 and using coupons, GC's & redemptions have saved $306.26. I budget $400.00 per month for groceries as DH always wants meat in his meals but I am thinking that for next month that I am going to cut that back to $300.00 and see what happens. Everything else that I have budgeted is on course...no unexpected surprises yet (knock wood).

    Happy Monday All.

Busy day here! DH's uncle arrives from the UK for 2 weeks so I'm off to the airport at noon. Dropping off baked goods at the local hospice on the way then visiting MIL at the hospital on the way home.

Making sandwiches for DH and I so we don't have to eat out and bringing the "snack bag". I've taken to keeping a bag of snacks and water near the door to the garage so when we're on our way out we just grab it and go. No more buying stuff at the hospital. A few bugs here and there has started to really add up.

DH got the oil changed yesterday, with a coupon of course! Bless him.

Costco tomorrow to take advantage of the cheese on sale.

Wishing you all a frugal start to the week.

Company from the UK...hope you have a great visit...I just love their accents & their chocolate.

Good plan to bring food with you when you visit your MIL as it is so much cheaper and healthier for you. Every little bit saved helps.

I could use a coupon for an oil change too. WTG DH!

I am not leaving this house until Wednesday as I have an errand to run and so no spending here.

Volunteering today, but we have a sick puppy. May have to stop by the vet. We have begun to introduce a different food to him but he may not be tolerating well. Vet visit to be sure as he had some shallow breathing this morning.

    Wishing everyone a great week!
