I don't understand how the FBI "dropped the ball". Even in the US the FBI can't detain or imprison anyone just because they visited a suspected group overseas. Question, yes...but if his answers were satisfactory, then they had to let him go. Just look at how they duped all their friends and family: they were Goid at keeping a low profile. I'm no fan of the FBI, but it boggles my mind what reporters think they could have done to prevent this horrific crime.......have I missed something?
has anyone heard if the father is in or on his way to the US? He wanted to be with his son...Last edited by Lynn49; Mon, Apr 22nd, 2013 at 03:55 PM.

just what i was thinking Lynn. They checked it and were satisfied. I'm sure they aren't half a$$ing it when it comes to tips from other govts
Russia has been trying to squash Chechnya for ages, it is a war ravaged area, and the RUssians want control. of course if they don't like someone they will look for any way to fight, even try and get the FBI to help. in the end he was cleared, what can you do? maybe the russians should have dug deeper?
funny tho, that it was americans who distributed flyers (printed in texas) to Afghan rebels when they were fighting Russian invasion in afghanistan way back when. they showered the ppl with flyers, thrown from helicopters. the Amerians spent their own resources to educate rebels about what jihad is and why the rebels should martyr themselves.
russia and the US have always been against each other for ages, obviously russia wasn't helping the states to protect itself when they tipped the FBI, they were looking to somehow get at a person they didn't like.
nothing condones the bombings, anywhere, anytime, ever.
but you have to know all the background info to finally realize just how messed up everything is, and how all parties involved are incredibly guilty on so many levels.
the families that get torn apart don't need to pay the price for the greedy battle of power and politics.

So, the survivor said his brother hatched the bombing idea to "defend Islam". That worked.

He said no other country or organization was involved....uh uh...
And...he said they didn't kill the guy whose car they hijacked because he wasn't a US citizen...wow.

Speaking in her first interview with British media, Zubeidat Tsarnaeva, 46, said she was proud of her sons Tamerlan and Dzhokhar – whose father is a Chechen - and did not believe they were guilty of the devastating attack, which killed three people and wounded more than 170 on April 15.
It comes as evidence grows that Tamerlan Tsarnaev had turned to a conservative strain of Islam in the months and years before the bloody events of last week.
Mrs Tsarnaeva, an observant Muslim wearing a black hijab gathered tightly under her chin, said Tamerlan, 26, her elder son - who was shot dead in a firefight with police in Watertown, Massachusetts on Friday - had first aroused suspicions in the United States in 2008, and FBI agents met with him on "at least five" occasions since, the last time a year and a half ago.
"They came and asked him, what are you doing, what are you up to?" she recalled. "They said Tamerlan was an influential lad, he had the personality of a leader and they asked me, 'Don't you have any thoughts that he could organise some kind of group of a terrorist persuasion?'" "They said they'd seen what kind of videos he'd been looking at. And they told me that they keep young leaders among Muslims under control so there aren't any bombings, so that they don't fall under someone's influence." Tamerlan Tsarnaev is thought to have maintained a YouTube account which featured videos sympathising with radical Muslims. His father said the FBI was interested in his visits to the Russian sitewww.islam.ru.
The FBI did not take any action after the visits and has come under criticism for allegedly "dropping the ball" over the Boston attacks, by failing to recognise the threat posed by Tsarnaev, whose 19-year-old brother Dzhokhar – captured by police on Friday – is also a suspect in the marathon bombings.

Agree, Dave...she said they didn't do it, they were framed, she was yelling and screaming in her interview (they played part of it on CNN), and then yelled something about Allah. I think I'm beginning to figure out where Tamerlan picked up some of his enthusiasm...she said that if she died or was killed today, she'd be HAPPY! (yelling it). Don't know what she's waiting for, then.....

As for those eyes....she looks like the only reason she'd hug you would be to stick a knife in your back. For Allah, of course.Last edited by Lynn49; Tue, Apr 23rd, 2013 at 01:06 PM.

get off yer arse and travel to the uk...talk to people in Northern Ireland..and then go to mainland Britain and talk to people in London, Birmingham, Guilford and Manchester..talk to people who've been affected by terrorists attcks from so-called Christains on both sides of the divide as well as those affected by bombings by Islamic extremeists..
Travel to Spain and France where ETA has bombed holiday resorts and tell thier governments how soft they are towards terrorists..
You know F@#% all about living under a constant threat of being blown up by people who want you dead..Much as I dislike the politics of Piers Morgan he lived the same kind of potential life threatening terroristic attacks that many of us lived in the UK..
Both Mr P and I have had people who have lost family and friends killed by IRA bombings...don't treat me lighty on this issue.
Your ignorance is stupendously enlightening here...

I really don't see how Canadians can understand how engrained looking at simple stuff is for people like Mr P and I..
We don't see a dropped bag,,it's a bomb..an IRA bomb.
Something strange in a trash can ..is that a bomb?
That backpack next to a child..bomb or not??
If you haven't spent the best part of 30 years wondering if today is the day you are going to be blown up or not....you are a lucky country..
And to see frugal 50 treat this like a joke is highly offensive cos she's been living in a dreamworld while we've been having to live the reality for most of our lives...

Whatever Darth, most of us here lived through the cold war and have a pretty good idea of what it feels like knowing each day could be our last. As for Britain, did you ever think you might not have had those Ireland troubles if you hadn't invaded and occupied the place? But that's what your ancestors did - and not just to Ireland. They ground half the world under their boot. What a surprise that you aren't loved for it. Yeah, poor you.

And another post Darth, cause this is bothering me. Millions of my ancestors were killed by yours. Your ancestors are the reason I'm here in Canada today. My great-great grandparents fled Ireland in coffin ships because your ancestors took all our food and left millions of us to starve. So sorry you had to worry about whether a handbag was a bomb in the 70's and 80s, but I imagine that anxiety was less than what an Irish mom felt as she watched her children slowly starve to death. Your nation and your people have a horrific past.
Other than Ireland, very little of the heritage you have sowed has come back on you. You should be grateful for that.Last edited by DaveP; Wed, Apr 24th, 2013 at 01:52 AM.
