Why is it that the closer it gets to bedtime the louder the kids get?

One of the things we really liked about our house when we first saw it was the private big yard. It's a double city corner lot in an older neighbourhood (so the lot is huge for the city).
We only have 2 neighbours/houses connecting to our property. Both properties have their houses situated so that NO windows face into our yard. This was a huge perk for us as we like being outside a lot and I'm BIG on privacy (before this we lived in the country).
Our one neighbour is currently (yes in the middle of winter) building an addition. I've been hoping it's a garage or at least they choose to put the windows in the same direction as all their other windows (ie, not right into our yard). No such luck.
They put in 2 HUGE windows that directly look into our backyard. Not only that but the addition is only about 10 feet from the fence (small chain link fence). So now they can sit in their new rec room and have unobstructed and very close views of our yard (kids play area, pool, garden, trampoline, etc).
We've spent the last 2 years and a lot of money re-doing the yard and now I won't be able to really enjoy it.
Looks like we'll be installing a 6 feet wooden privacy fence as soon as Spring hits.
Thanks but I don't need someone watching me bend over and tend to the garden or play in the pool with my kids. Hope you enjoy the unobstructed view of my fence.

Happy Update:
I finally found a stroller and it's a really nice one (better than our last double stroller that I bought brand new).
$80 for a very gently used Peg Perego Aria Twin Stroller.I'm VERY happy with it. It'll be perfect because it folds down SUPER small and both kids fit perfectly in it.

Roundabouts filled with so much snow that you can't see what's coming until the car is right in front of you and a$$holes behind you leaning on their horn because you aren't zipping through it. Sorry not going to risk my life and my children's life by whipping through the worst roundabout in the city(that has at least one accident a day, when there's no snow blocking your view) when I can't see what's coming.

I have this on again off again girlfriend. She breaks things off, then months later comes back. She is very introverted and eccentric so I have to be very patient with her.
anyway, she just found out that I am in town so she came over to say hi, it was a nice visit I was very pleased, sad/happy it's ended late last summer but happy we are civil and get along..... BUT
Then as she leaves, she gives me a framed picture of herself that I took of her on a beach we visited last year.
Why would she do that???? Now I am frikin confused again and my head feels like one of those empty oil barrels rolling down a hill.
I can't tell if she is the best thing ever, or worst. On the other hand, with my odd job.... maybe she feels the same about me?Last edited by vesper; Thu, Feb 5th, 2015 at 05:40 AM.
