upset with Toronto Housing - my hubby's uncle lives in Toronto Housing on Danforth and his whole place is full of bedbugs and many other bugs. Its been like that for at least 3 years - heck the whole building is full of bedbugs. Toronto Housing didn't do anything and even we complained on his behalf and still did nothing. Then my uncle's friends place who lives in another city - I guess he was visiting and brought bedbugs to his place. It wasn't until a complaint to Public Health that finally Toronto Housing has to spray by Friday and give him a new bed, new couch and a few other things. But now Toronto Housing said they can't spray for another two weeks. So we called Public Health and he is getting sprayed on Friday.
I feel so bad for people who live in Toronto Housing - they can't afford a new bed or do all the things to help get rid of them. Just because they live in social housing doesn't mean they should have a clean living space. We even have to get out place sprayed too because he stayed here in June and I am pretty sure we have a mild case.
Back to doing laundry....

It is super sad. A friend of mine years ago lived in a low income building, but had roaches and it was bad
Bad enough that they would be in his girlfriends purse and you`d have to lift your feet off the floor in the bathroom because six would go running to the dark corners.
Re bed bugs, I`m not sure if its the same as lice, (DD had a friend over last summer who got treated but I was super paranoid and steam cleaned the sh*t out of my couch, made an alcohol and water solution and sprayed it ) but laundry try to pour boiled water on it, and tea tree oil is supposed to help too.

What is with all the hashtag/emoji clothing for little girls? And if it doesn't have a hashtag or emoji on it, there's a cut out, "meow" across the chest or some random inapropriate saying(came across one online today that said "will you be my bae?).

I agree 100%. I took my granddaughter back to school shopping and her priority was a kelly green hoodie. The only one we could find had the initials F U in huge letters across the front, which apparently stands for Freedom United clothing company. Sure I want my granddaughter walking around with F U in huge letters on the front of her hoodie. I ended up making her one, in the colour she wanted.
FU Freedom United Clothing Company!
The hashtag and emoji trend is driving me nuts too, it needs to go away soon.Last edited by thriftygranny; Tue, Aug 30th, 2016 at 11:42 PM.

DD saw a rainbow poop emoji pillow that she had to have. No way. Absolutely not. It's POOP! I may consider getting her a smiley face one for Christmas but there's no damn way I'm spending money on the other one. And when either one of them try to use hashtag with me they get a dirty look and a few choice words.

That's what gets me, a toddler has no clue what a hashtag is, do they really need a shirt that says "#fancy" on it? I was trying to find dd a birthday girl tshirt and even those has hashtags on them.
My dd wanted the emoji poop purse.....$30 bucks to have poop hanging off your shoulder. No thanks.
