MPs are giving themselves a raise by nearly $20 million ....kick in the pants to poor workers in Alberta losing their jobs and people on fixed incomes. Thought the country was in a recession but guess if you have a majority government....The emperor has no clothes.

For the sake of accuracy it should be noted that this is a raise to their office budgets, not their salaries. This means they will be able to hire extra office staff (creating new jobs) or increase the salary of the office workers (not such a bad thing).

If you can imagine, I was at university and staying in a small residence off campus - one floor men, the other women. One set of bathrooms for each. Now not everyone got sick, but the majority of us did. Being sick communally is just gross...

It was St. Patrick's Day - the only reason I remember is that we had a special supper of roast beef with all the trimmings.
Well, it turned out that the canned mushrooms they used in the gravy were bad... and so many of us were SO ill.
I remember phoning my mom and just crying and crying because it hurt so badly...

(It was not a bad place to stay - it's a Ukrainian residence and their food was awesome - duh, except for the above....)

I was at Carter's with DD this morning, she goes to back where the toys are and is playing with another little girl while I browse the clearance rack right beside them. DD gets excited about something and says "oh my gosh!" And this little girl(who couldn't have been more than 5) starts pitching a hissy fit that DD said a bad word. She runs to her mom(who's at the front of the store) and tells her DD said a bad word. The mom comes over to me and tells me DD needs to say sorry if she wants to continue playing with her daughter and she can't believe I would let my child say something like that. So I'm thinking this little girl embellished what DD said(no one can be this upset over someone saying "oh my gosh" right? This saying is in multiple children's books we have for crying out loud). So I ask the mom what DD said that was offensive, and she responds with "oh my gosh" and tells me again that my child's language is inappropriate.
Think I'll be ordering online from Carter's from now on lol.
