DS and I were creative in the kitchen today....made up a whack of miscellaneous sushi/California rolls.
They all have the same veg strips inside, and I hate avocado so there is none of that green crap in them....lol.
The slender veg strips inside include carrot, bok choy, green onion, asparagus and red pepper. Each batch had a different protein inside, they included crispy Tempura shrimp, spicy peanut satay tuna, crab meat and BBQ pork.
( we cheated on the BBQ pork, it was actually cooked bacon diced up and mixed with chicken and rib sauce )

These may very well be inhaled within a day or two....we love them. We wanted to get them super chilled in the fridge for later.

Our DS is so generous and always pays when we get any sushi, but I just wanted to show him how easy and fun they are to make at home.
I dislike the sauces they drizzle over them, some places slather red fish eggs ( roe on them, yuck! ) and I don't want any wasabi touching any of my rolls, so really it can be tough to get them the way I like them, and these ones taste so clean and refreshing!
DH is not such a fan of them BUT once he tastes ours he will change his mind, especially the BBQ and the shrimp ones.
