I wash our sheets when I feel like it. Yep. There it is. It is no less than once a month, sometimes only a week. I washed all bedding since I was sick over the weekend.

Me too. Usually the weekend I'm off I have the kids strip their beds-which is every second weekend- but my bed I change them about once a week as we have 3-4 sets for our bed and only 3 twin size for two beds. My son has his changed every week or sooner as he is in diapers and sometimes has spillage.

Back to school means back to routines, right? Question of the Day???? Did you buy new wardrobes for your kids or just the odd pieces, school bags, lunch bags? Inquiring Minds Want to Know!!! Are you going to be foraging for apples (getting apples from along the road sides) or do you have your own trees or just purchase them in large quantities. What do you do with your apples (freeze, can, jellies, etc?

QOD the boys both have new lunch bags DS #1 was using a bag that was three years old so it was time. They both went to school in clothes they have had for ages. I don't let back to school dictate my shopping, it is based on need and growth, soon we will go looking for jeans for the #1 as he has none left due to a 3 inch growth spurt since April & of course his brother rarely wears jeans so he will need comfy pants. I will wait until the end of September as he is happy to wear shorts and this gives him more time to grow. as for the apples, we may spend a day picking from a local farm but with a 50 hr work week and commuting they will be eaten as is with maybe an apple crumble. I am feeling the jet lag catch up to me so I am going to bed oh so early tonight, chat tomorrow everyone.

I canned 14 jars of zucchini relish this morning. Have another double batch that will be done tomorrow and then the last one day after that.
Besides that I have to get a bunch of fall and Thanksgiving towels done before the weekend.

When I was a kid I went home for lunch til grade 5. Than I made my own.

I hope to get some free apples from the neighbors as she usually offers.I need to make some crab apple jalapeno jelly for sure, it goes really well with pork and wild game and we love it.I usually get some pie apples from a friend and do a few pies and cobblers for the freezer and applesauce if I have enough apples.
Sigh...I change the sheets every Friday as it is usually a day off for me, probably don't need to but I love crawling into fresh sheets and it starts my weekend off in a good way!

ok I'm finally caught up! Phew! Will be a busy day for me tomorrow so no time for smartcanucks. Tomorrow night I will be going through my oldest sons closet and dresser and totally cleaning up. Stuff he doesn't wear and is in good shape will be moved to his brothers closet. Good stuff that brother won't wear will go to my friends consignment store. Thrift store and garbage get the rest. I love how clean and organized the little ones room is. Have all dirty laundry in the machine ready to run tomorrow night (after I add tomorrows dirty stuff) Will run it at 7pm and then hang all to dry and then fluff dry and put away Thursday night. Going to start this new routine and see how it goes. Goal is to try and really reduce dryer use. We had baked chicken, corn and ceaser salad for dinner. Something simple tomorrow night since I'm cleaning DS's room.

I took some clothes to a friend that are too small for me - and should fit her. She says shes going through her closet (shes lost alot of weight) and anything my size i can try on and keep if i like.

I made sure my cell bill and my cc bill were paid this morning and i also made sure i took the time to go pay for the registration/plates on my car for the year.

I recevied my first $5 for amazon.ca for the month - hopeful can request the next $5 on sb tomorrow or thursday.

I found out also that the place im working pt starting this weekend is reactivating my employment so i'm still going to be getting what i was NOT what they are advertising (which is $3 less than what i had made) and i will be getting auto deposit now instead of a physical check.

Sheets - i wash ours once a week usually saturday or sunday. The boys as we have the a week on a week off we wash them every two weeks on the day before they come home to us.

EI is issued twice a week. Do you collect pampers points? You can use them to get well.ca gift cards which you could use to buy diapers too. I also would preorder before big redemptions at Shoppers. I also used to on the last day of a sale for a raincheck. Usually they are sold out by then.

Thanks for the answer to my EI question, everyone. Does it get deposited on the same day? I had one week's worth deposited two weeks ago Tuesday, so I was expecting the next one today but it hasn't come yet.

I just noticed that you can spend Pampers points on well.ca! Unfortunately, the SDMs near me don't preorder or reserve quantities. It's whatever they have at 8 AM. They will issue rainchecks, but timing my trips with a one month old is hit and miss (with 94.6% misses so far).

I have to pay for his full-time daycare spot whether he is there or not, so I might as well use some of it.

Isn't that annoying? I don't think daycares should be allowed to do that. It's just too bad I don't make the rules.

This will cut down the cost of transportation for me as I can now just bike DS back and forth to daycare. Hopefully I can shed a few pounds as well. lol.

That's such a lovely idea to receive something nice in the mail! If only I could get on top of the cards that I'm already supposed to send out.... LO keeps me quite busy these days.

Both me and mom are having stomach issues right now so right now most nights it is like what can your tummy handle and that is what we eat. Although I am happy to know it is genetics causing my tummy troubles which I did not know. Not really sure why mom did not tell me both her and dad had stomach issues when my problems started when I was a teenager but she did not, she just told me like 3 weeks ago.

It's pretty useful to know family history. Now that you know, I guess you can learn how it affects you later in life by watching your parents. Either way, I'm sorry you had to find out later instead of up-front, long ago.

secondly.. how often do you wash sheets.. dh insists i wash them 1x a week.. i dont' think their are going to last long.. and king size are expensive to buy.

Ours are washed each time LO spits up milk or has an accident during a diaper change. With those daily 3 AM feedings in the dark, our sheets are lucky to make it to the end of the week. Laundry used to be done every other week but is changed much more frequently.

We used to go to an apple orchard and pick bushels. Then I'd eat about eight apples a day, making loud OM NOM NOM!!! noises, while DH would try to figure out how to fit them all in the fridge without taking out all the shelves.

Hooray! I am updating my wardrobe for free! Since we were young y sister was always the skinny one. But now that she's pregnant she has ballooned right up. I am happy I kept a lot of my larger clothes as she is bringing over a bag of her smaller clothing so we can swap.
