Aw, he got hurt at the X Games on the weekend, took quite the tumble, came in second.

He fractured a rib, but is travelling to Russia Sunday, with physio, etc., still going to compete.

I'm really loving all of the creative patterns and colors all of the different countries are using for their gear.

I was watching the X games with my son and watched in horror when he hit the rail.I had tears on my eyes. I hope it is a quick heal but honestly when my daughter broke a rib playing soccer it was a long recovery, it is so uncomfortable and tender for some time.Tough kid though I sincerely hope he can compete.

One of my favourite things is watching the parade of countries - it's so very long, but so interesting to see what they are all wearing, and how gosh darned happy and excited they all are!

PYATIGORSK, Russia, February 1 (R-Sport) - The Sochi 2014 Olympic flame conquered Europe's highest peak four months ago, but its trip to the top of Mount Elbrus was kept under wraps until now because the official torch relay is just reaching the region, officials told R-Sport on Saturday.
The lighting of an Olympic cauldron at the 5,642-meter summit, a prestige side-project akin to sending the torch on a spacewalk and the North Pole, was carried out at the end of October due to favorable weather conditions, relay organizers said in a statement.
Two local climbers, Karina Mezova and Abdul-Khakim Elmezov, took a lantern containing the Olympic flame up the mountain.
The announcement came as the 123-day relay, which ends in Sochi on February 7, entered Elbrus' region of Kabardino-Balkaria.

SOCHI, Russia - Athletes from 88 countries are set to compete in Sochi, a record for the Winter Olympics.

The IOC released the final list of national Olympic committees that will be participating in the Sochi Games, which open Friday.

The previous record was set at the 2010 Vancouver Games, where 82 national teams took part.

Among those competing in the Winter Games for the first time is the southern African nation of Zimbabwe, represented by Alpine skier Luke Steyn.
Togo and Morocco have also qualified.
Three athletes from India will be competing as "independent participants" under the Olympic . Their national Olympic committee remains suspended by the IOC pending election of new officials.

A total of about 3,000 athletes will be competing in 98 medal events.
