@ cdngal75 I would try something with a loud sonar sound like the mouse plug in things they sell at home depot etc, rodents can't can't can't stand the sound, I know I no longer has a mouse problem since I purchased ours 2 years ago. They are not cheap but worth every penny and may help.

Yay! for power walks in the mall. I have tried going to Target to power walk, with the cart, going down every aisle. The temptation is to buy something, so I do a Toonie Target Power Walk (trademark). Meaning, if there is a deal there when power walking, it can only cost $2, with tax, all in.

Target toonie walk. too funny. so glad i dont' live close to target.. man my word i'd be in a world of trouble.

I found two visa GC's this morning. checked their balance.. thought. hmm went to Michael's exchanged a couple of items.
then took a 40% off coupon and applied to another item plus some little things.. then used my gc's to pay for it all. not a dime out of pocket.
Now i have to buckle down and prep for next Friday.

Had a bit of time to kill before my appointment so I went to one of my favourite stores. It`s almost across from the podiatrist...way too handy. Bought another 6 books and ordered 2 more for when I go again in 8 weeks. Told myself that was my reward for not buying any chocolate. Haven`t counted but I know I have 3 big boxes of books that I haven`t read yet. I think I have a book addiction. lol

Tomorrow I have to empty a couple sections of the cabinets. Guy`s coming Friday morning to install the sliding shelves.

I have a book addiction as well fortunately I get all my books for free in the summer time .

sold 2 things for us tonight = $25.00 and
ds#1 sold his road hockey equipment = $50.00

DH & I went to look at something someone post on a facebook page for sale unfortunately they were mistaken with the armoire being wood as it was a laminate so 1.5 hours driving for us and an awful feeling all the way home.

Anyways dh in his field of work has an obligation to report any concerns to CAS and boy I'm still in shock with what I personally saw at these people's house (where the armoire was for sale). I feel really dirty best way to describe it and so bad for the kid(s) and the dogs.....I mean anyone can report things of this nature to CAS so shaking my head

Why Spring clean in the spring when the weather is starting to turn warmer, the snow is mostly gone and the crocuses are starting to bloom?

I have changed my way of thinking about this as I am stuck indoors in the winter anyways so this what has been keeping me busy. I have been washing bedding and curtains, cleaning windows (thankfully I have tilt in sliders), wiping down walls, cleaning cabinets and all the other stuff that everyone does when they Spring clean. The house should soon be spotless.

The only thing I haven't been doing is baking as we have yet to buy a new stove. We will be doing this on Friday either before or after grocery shopping. I think I will let DH take me out for lunch as it is going to be a long day.

Impressed at the deals and sales posted. I really need to get posting some of my hoards of craft materials on kiiji.

I managed to get rid of one bin of fabric by donating to a charity pick up. The fabric was really outdated but not cool enough to call it vintage..it was tough to let go but felt good when I did. How did I manage to donate my treasured fabric? I simply thought that if I had managed to sew some clothes with the fabric..the clothes would be outdated anyways and I'd end donating them charity..

Morning all! Found 2 pk Olay soap bars at shoppers on blowout for $1.50 and used a Buy 2 save $3 so just paid the tax. It was on my list to stock up on when I found a deal so happy to get 8 bars for .78 cents!

Saundyl I hope your husband is on the mend and they can figure out what is going on with him.Must have been very frightening.
Had a busy weekend here, got my shopping done on Friday night (hurray for clearance TP at Target). Worked 9 hours on Saturday and laundry and housework on Sunday. Spent Family day with my girls doing batch cooking, my son went to Golden on a snow board trip with some buddies.We cooked turkey and portioned out turkey and gravy for hot turkey sandwiches for the freezer and made individual freezer burritos for lunches and quick snacks. I have 3 loaves of banana bread in the oven this morning and will go to work at 3. I think I am getting an ear infection as an aftermath of last weeks flu so I am anticipating a visit to the walk in clinic tomorrow.

All the tests they did find anything definitive There was no evidence of a stroke. However he WAS on blood thinners for two days before they got him to the CTscan and MRI and the Sonograms. They told him its "possibly" related to the stress migraines hes been getting. He started to get one Tuesday night and actually let me give him tylenol before it got really bad.

I bought clothes online after telling myself I wouldn't. But they were clothes for my DD who is in need of a few shirts, and they had free shipping and most of the items I bought were under $5 (some were under $3!). So I am changing the wording of my rule from "no online shopping" to "Stick to clothing budget" because those deals were even better than second hand stores.

Sometimes the online deals for new items are hard to pass up. My rule is if im going to shop online i have to have the money available that same day to put onto the c.c. or it cannot be ordered.

Well I've just finished my coffee and it's time to get frugally productive. I was off to a great start in January but have found our budget falling of track this month. Amazing what how a bit of take out, giving money as a gift (instead of making something) can quickly add up. Time to use up stuff in the freezer, get crafting, organize my coupons and search out ones for hubby's weekly lunch.

In January, I put together a box full of coupons for hubby's weekly "treat" and to share with his lunch buds. He and his co workers would look thru the coupons and plan where they could save (in many cases getting lunch for 1/2 price). Last week, he went to grab a coupon for Harvey's out of his prized box and to his dismay ..the entire coupon box was stolen!!! He was shocked that someone from his office could actually be that heartless. I'm getting him back on track with printables etc but this time...this time round, he's to keep the coupons under lock and key!

Well time to get organized and put together a box for a charity pick up tomorrow!

i noticed January and February Budgets have stuggled with staying on track even going way over in certain areas.

How LOW of someone to steal the box of coupons.

It was a nice treat that you needed after the week of worry, plus it was Valentine's and you were alone, so you did something nice for yourself.

I really did enjoy it...I wasnt really thinking of it as being alone on Valentines as he and I had talked about it a couple days before as to "doing valentines day when he got home" (which we did - he brought home a card and some godiva chocolates. I had given him a card and gotten him a massage a week before Valentines.)

My inquiring mind wants to know the bagel recipe! Congrats on the weight loss! I know how hard it is to take it off and keep it off. I'm a Weight watcher member (yes I hate the price, but love the results) and have lost 75lbs in about a year and a half. Slow but steady.

I was in weight watchers - I have all the books and trackers I just forget to use them. I know of multiple people who have done VERY well on weight watchers - even some who joined to get the materials and continued on their own without attending meetings or paying the fees.

Interesting. Thanks for the suggestion, I will look into it. We have had mice in our garage many times and twice in our house, so it would definitely get used.

Great find. Yesterday at No Frills I found 16 count swiffer refills, Febreeze set and refresh and a can of Febreeze(with Gain) air fresheners on sale for 50% off. Combine that with the buy any three(of those brands) and get $4 off coupon, I paid just over a $1 for all three. YAY!!!!!

I am not a huge couponer, but every now and then I am able to snag some amazing deals.
