Hey guys I thought it would be interesting to find out what everyone is doing for valentines day! I know I'm going to be single and probably end up going to the movies with my friend and pigging out on chocolate! I am seriously thinking about redeeming $60 on sweets and treats for that day

Personally, I think Valentines Day is a waste of money, time and energy. If you have to wait until Feb 14th to show someone you care, then you have bigger problems than finding a gift for them or spending an obscene amount of cash on flowers

I like valentines day. It gives a special reason to celebrate love. I show people in my life I love them all the time but it is nice to have a little reminder. I would like to go for dinner and date with my husband and kids. But I am not sure what we will do.

Looks like I will be all alone although my mom bought me chocolates (more so I think she wanted them and decided well if I say they are a gift she would not get the eye roll from me on how much she spent, I am bad I know but well it is a lot of money just for chocolate). I am hoping the guy I got a thing for maybe makes a move but considering how close we are to Valentine's Day pretty sure even if he does we will be skipping it.
I must admit I am not big on Valentine's Day it is marketing Holiday but just once I would like to celebrate it and by this I mean on a small toned down frugal way. I have told guys in the past buy me roses and I will beat you with them if you pay Valentine's Day pricing, wow am I romantic or what??????????????????? dh and i don't exchange anything any more, but I always get our girls a little something. they make mailboxes and hang them on their doors. I put love notes and a couple little items in it for them. since DH is on days this year, the girls want to get dressed up and go to a fancy restaurant (they decided on either the mandarin or east side marios).

Valentines day just happens to fall on my Friday off. I'll probably make a nice supper and then DH and I will probably rent a movie on itunes. I'm not a flowers or jewelry person and I'm allergic to chocolate, so we don't do gifts at all. I'd rather save the money for something we really want anyways
My Mom's soon-to-be-husband likes to spoil her all the time not just on valentines day, (and they can afford to) so I'm excited to see what she gets this year. She never spent any money on herself when we were growing up so its nice to see her get super spoiled now

Either I'll make a special supper or we'll order in.
I always make my husband a special dessert...

Nothing special that I know of. We don't really make a deal out of Valentines day, it is just another day for us. The other day my husband came in and handed me a single stemmed rose and I said, "it's not valentines day yet". He replied "everyday is valentines day". That's what it's about.
