Les Miserables
9/10
Epic music, great casting, a story of grace, I didn't give a full 10/10 because a couple parts dragged a bit for me."There are more important things--friendship and bravery...."

i agree- hobbit 10/10
we spent a little too long at bag end but after the adventure started, it was great!
at the end the only reason i was relieved was because i had to pee so badly. the theatre was freeeeeezing!
we saw it in 3D... not sure if the 3D added anything but the time worked out better for us than the 2D times.

^^ Oh yes heartgirl in 3D was the only way to see The Hobbit IMO.
We went to see Les Miserables last night. I am giving it a 7/10, but I am certain it deserves more.
Now am I the only person who DID NOT know anything about the actual story? I know there have been many plays of this, but it just never interested me, but at a theatre, well I can afford movies more so we went.
I did love Anne Hathaway's performance ( I even cried) but for some reason at a certain point I was screaming to myself " stop singing!! and just say what you want to say! " ok I guess I need to go to more opera's maybe.
I must have been tired too because in one scene with Hugh Jackman I swear I had to hold in my laughter as I was imagining him bringing out his Wolverine claws and going all beasty on them!

The Hobbit - 9.5/10 - Absolutely loved it, especially the humor. The only reason I didn't give it a full 10 was the abrupt ending. I know it's the first part of a trilogy, but it felt like we got all wound up and then it just ended.

I read the book, in French and played the music on the piano as a girl. It is definitely a true musical. I find as a result of modern musicals, take Glee for e.g., I am still surprised when EVERYTHING is sung. At one point I leaned over to my sister and said, there is Wolverines neck! I barely recognize Hugh Jackman at the start.

we are going to see Gangster Squad this w/e...oohh! Josh Brolin, Ryan Gosling and even Sean Penn ( in Sean's case more admiration for his acting than his eye candy status) and maybe some popcorn!! I'll be in heaven.
