Tara, fingers crossed and prayers said as you wait for your MRI results. I sure hope that little boy gets some medical help. He'll get dehydrated with that kind of frequency of vomitting. I also hope to Hades that you didn't get "down-wind" of any of the germs he was spreading around! Haven't you mentioned before that smells were "different" for you? I find when I get a migraine, I don't get a visual aura but I can SMELL things very acutely.
Are there any smells that "soothe" you rather than "set you off"? Is there any music that helps you to feel better? My dh (who is battling prostate cancer) finds listening to music helps to calm him and take him to a "better place." What about sensory soothing like creams or certain textures? I find that I sit twiddling my doggies curly fur and that is soothing to me. (Hopefully him, too!)
Sending you good wishes!

I will call my bro in the morning to see how my nephew is and if he's still vomiting I hope he at least takes him to the clinic. Poor guy. I made sure to use the lysol spray when he left and wipe all the surfaces down. I'm not a germphobe...I'm germ CONSCIOUS! *fingers crossed* I don't catch anything either. I'm sorry to hear your dh has to deal with this crappy thing too, grrrr. But I'm glad he has some coping mechanisms. My cat isn't a cuddler (I don't think I've ever met a cat that was lol) however when and so when I'm vomiting is she hears me, runs over meowing and will sit next to me. She lets me pet her through it as it helps calm me, so she is a good kitty. When my seizures get back2back I lay down if I'm home and breathe through them when I'm out. Thankfully mine are *knock-wood* only auras thus far and haven't mutated any worse. Being sick though is when I totally miss my dog. I use to always bring her up in the bed with me, lay on my side and just stroke her fur. That was so calming. I miss her furry butt so much.
I love my cat but she is not a cuddler. I was talking with my husband and saying recently I want to get a dog, just so I have a tiny cuddling companion in bed when I'm sick. lol Dogs are the best for that.
And thank you Lynn. I hope to get some good sleep tonight as I'm uber tired.Last edited by TaraF; Sun, Feb 8th, 2015 at 12:54 AM.

Good morning, Tara. Oh, my, I hear you about how comforting it is to stroke a dog's fur...if you want a snuggler, a Doxie for sure! Jenny thinks she's a baby-child. Okay, she IS. Honestly, Right now she's just gotten up, went outside to do her business, and is fast asleep on my lap, rolled up like a burrito in 'our' Sherpa blankie...

Oh! Must run..."the kids" are curling in a tournament all day, so our grandson will be with us....he's coming armed with board games, juice pop maker, we'll make homemade blueberry muffins and Valentine's day cards for his Mom and Dad....busy day ahead...in about 5 minutes, lol!!
Have a a lovely day, Sweetie!

Have a good day with your grandson Lynn, and stay warm! It's crappy weather here, ugh. Goes with how I'm feeling anyways. Pffft. Nauseated and pressure in my head, they go hand and hand anymore. But, I'm down to one dexamethasone daily now so it makes sense. While I can function with only 1 a day I get more symptoms, to be totally symptom free I need 2 a day but my Drs don't want me on that dosage. Oh well. I shall hang in until Thursday and see what is going on.
Thankfully my nephew is feeling better this morning, he had a rough night but is doing better today.

Hello avon! And thank you. I'm functioning on 1 pill a day, I can get by on that. The pressure in my head is more noticible and my stomach aches more, but I can deal with it. Just a few more days until my MRI results which is good because I'm a nervous nelly over here.

Thank you ladies. Results are: no significant change on my scans, but it is showing brain swelling. Staying on the steroids for 2 more weeks for the brain swelling, which the Oncologist said is probably radiation related, and we'll go from there. Next scan will be June, if I can behave until then.
