Good Morning! Feeling good about being back at work after vacation and yesterday wasn't too bad. Got thru all the email and piles that arrived on my desk while gone. Now I can get some actual work done today. Had my $12 pick up last night. So $29 in sales on the weekend. Spent $30 on the new dresser and mirror for DS's room so almost a wash! Plus all the free stuff I scored on Friday so a pretty good weekend Busy week with work and something every night after work. Leftovers in the fridge for dinner so we won't starve but not much time to make anything really. Bought 2Lbs of fresh strawberries yesterday so at least we have yummy fruit for lunch (for me on my oatmeal for breakfast). Will make youngest DS a Bento style lunch tomorrow (strawberries, boiled egg, pickles, cracker, cheese etc) Have a fantastic day!

    Good morning, everyone.

Still feeling like I've been run over by a truck. The only consolation is that Lily dog is back to her normal self. And of course Quincy cat is his usual crazy self.

We'll see how many naps I get in today.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

No planting here. I can't find my seeds and I refuse to buy more because the old ones will probably turn up as soon as I get the new ones in the ground. This year, maybe we'll wait for soil sales and work on our poor drainage. Then we'll get plants in the ground by fall for next year.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to fix hard clay soil with poor drainage?

What will you do with the increased UCCB $160.00 for children aged 6 and under and $60.00 for childen aged 6 through 17.

So just wondering those that qualify what if any are your plans??
Right now, we're saving up to get our windows and doors done and then the roof right after that. Anything extra will go towards that, but we try to put a set amount aside for LO's future studies in her RESP.

@Granger I'm sorry I can't make sense myself with all the ins and outs of SDM as I'm fairly new to actively using my card (lol)

I would suggest perhaps sending a personal message to someone on the thread that knows all the loopholes, hows to etc as I really have no idea.

I just recently started using some of the offers that they send by email and print in the last month

    I think that they are
spending $75.00 not including taxes - $20.00 coupon = $55.00 and then redeeming points from their collected points and then gaining points by redeeming on days with 20x the points but I could be absolutely wrong which is MOST LIKELY THE CASE and of course this would only happen when all stars are in alignment meaning coupon & 20x the points
2019 is the year that we continue to save before we buy!!!

I`m doing the happy dance today. Went for my eye injection this morning but the scan showed my eye is the best it`s ever been since 2012. We were really surprised because I hadn`t had any while I was on prednisone, then 1 last month. We were expecting to have to do a series of 3 again but it looks like I`m back on maintenance again.

I`ve been crocheting up a storm...got 9 towels done yesterday and a couple this morning before I left. Hope to do another 6-7 today.

This one is just sweet enough and is really flavourful - I adore the buttery texture.

Best Icing (yes, that's what it was called in the cookbook)
    ----------

    5 Tbsp flour
    1 cup milk
    1 cup white sugar
1 cup shortening (I use margarine or butter)
    1 tsp vanilla

Note - you need to leave time for the flour mixture to cool before going on to the second step.

In a pan, cook flour and milk until thick, stirring constantly - I use a whisk. It's very thick. Cool.

In a bowl, cream sugar and shortening, add vanilla and beat until fluffy.

Add the cooled flour mixture, and beat until it looks like whipped cream - maybe 7-10 min.
    Yes, it's a long time!
I gave j&C the link to this recipe, it is absolutely my favourite and I am surprised that not many people make it.i first found the recipe when i was 19 and just married. I made it last month for my daughters birthday cake, it was pineapple coconut cake so i subbed the milk with coconut cream and a dash of coconut extract and it was amazing. I also sub half butter if I don't need pure white icing!

Productive lunch hour! Ate my lunch at my desk then stopped off to get my plate sticker renewal (Paid $196.00 for 2 years- Will be happy next year when I don't have to pay) then home to wash the pile of dishes that were in the sink (dishwasher was cleaned and not emptied yet and when you eat at home and cook real food (not heating up lean cuisine, pizza from a box etc) you always have dishes, oh well) then parked downtown and went to bank to get my mad money (hadn't taken it out last pay since we were away and didn't need it- hoping not to spend much and then next payday I will have extra and will get a pedicure ) then went to Guardian to grab the Cadbury Mini eggs that were on for 2 packs for $1 (the regular price was $1.29 each) for the boys for Easter.

    Congratulations on your results!

I just looked over the flyers at lunch and thre didn't seem to be anything much to rush out for this week so far. I'm happy about that.
